ACE-COMM Reports Results for the Fourth Quarter and Fiscal Year 2006
ACE*COMM Corporation (NASDAQ:ACEC), a global provider of network business intelligence and advanced operations support systems (OSS) solutions, today reported financial results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year 2006, both ending June 30, 2006.
For the year ended June 30, 2006, the Company recorded revenues of $26.7 million, compared to $20.0 million for fiscal year 2005. The Company had net income and income per fully diluted share of $0.3 million and $0.02, respectively, compared to a net loss and loss per fully diluted share of $6.5 million and $0.44 for fiscal year 2005. Revenues for the fourth quarter 2006 totaled $6.5 million compared to $6.8 million for the same quarter in fiscal year 2005. Intec Completes Acquisition of EUR Systems
Intec Billing, a provider of business and operations support systems (BSS/OSS) and services to the global telecom industry, announced today the completion of its acquisition of the operating assets of outsourced billing and business process outsourcing (BPO) specialist EUR Systems. The EUR assets will be added to Intec’s existing service bureau operations in North America, to offer a comprehensive suite of end-user and wholesale billing and BPO solutions to the North American ILEC, CLEC and IXC market. The consideration, which will be paid in cash, is approximately $13.4 million*, subject to a working capital adjustment. The value of the gross assets acquired is approximately $6.6 million. EUR, which reported revenues of $36.0 million in 2005, employs approximately 230 professionals in its operations in Mechanicsburg, PA and San Antonio, TX.
Intec CEO Kevin Adams said, “Completion of this acquisition allows Intec to substantially increase its market share in the access billing space and to expand our capabilities as an outsourced billing and business process provider. We see very good synergies in this deal, which allows us to efficiently and effectively combine our outsourcing and service bureau operations under one experienced management team.”
The acquisition of EUR provides Intec with a centre of competence in outsourced billing and business services which, when combined with its existing Carrier Access Billing (CABS) and retail billing service bureaus, will make it one of the leading players in this market. The acquisition expands the Intec portfolio through the addition of a broad range of business process outsourcing services and also provides an opportunity for Intec to increase efficiency in its existing service bureau operations through economies of scale. Intelligent Metering Investments in Europe to Total 3.5 Billion Until 2010
Investments in intelligent metering solutions in the European energy sector will total 3.5 billion until 2010, according to new a research report from the analysis firm Berg Insight.
“Demand for intelligent metering solutions is closely linked to energy cost”, says Tobias Ryberg, senior analyst at Berg Insight. “Already most industrial and large commercial sites are covered with intelligent metering. In a second phase we now see deployments of smart meters for residential customers in countries with high electricity prices or high electricity consumption.”
Sweden, where households use three times more electric power than the EU-average, will introduce a law that will lead to intelligent metering for all customers by 2009. [Read more…]

Subex Azure Report Says Telcoms Operator Losses On the Increase
According to a report released by Subex Azure Limited, telecoms operator losses are on the increase. But, operators are now taking greater corporate responsibility for revenue assurance. Subex Azure Ltd, the world’s largest vendor of revenue maximization solutions for telecom operators, today revealed that average revenue leakage across global telecoms operators has increased to 12.1 per cent of turnover ($176 billion), compared to 11.6 per cent in 2005. This is one of the main findings of the fourth consecutive annual ‘Operator Attitudes to Revenue Assurance 2006’ report, which Subex Azure conducted with telecoms analysts, Analysys.
Danny Dicks, Principal Analyst at Analysys, said: “From this year’s research it is clear that operators are more concerned about all sources of revenue leakage. It is apparent that revenue assurance has become much more of a board-level issue.”
The report is based on the responses of over 100 operators around the world, to investigate levels of revenue loss globally. Fraud was again the single largest area of revenue leakage having increased to 2.9 per cent of turnover. There were also increases in revenue leakage due to credit management, incorrect service usage data and interconnect/partner payment errors. [Read more…]
