Comverse To Acquire Netonomy

Comverse, a subsidiary of Comverse Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMVT), and the world’s leading supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communication and billing services, has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire privately-held Netonomy for approximately $19 million in cash.

Raz Alon, interim CEO of Comverse Technology, said, “This acquisition is in line with our strategic efforts to continually enhance Comverse’s Total Communication Product Portfolio’s ability to generate revenues, strengthen customer loyalty and improve operational efficiency for communication service providers.”

Netonomy, a leader in customer self-service, bill analysis and point of sale (POS) solutions, extends Comverse’s portfolio of real-time billing and customer management solutions for communication service providers by adding additional tools to increase efficiency and enhance the end-customer experience. Convergys President COO David F. Dougherty Elected to the Board of Directors

Brasil Telecom Signs Contract with Convergys for Convergent Billing

Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG), a provider of customer care, human resources, and billing services, has announced a new five-year contract with Brasil Telecom S.A. (NYSE: BTM) to expand the use of Convergys’ Infinys [tm] software to support Brasil Telecom’s wireless, wireline, data, and Internet services. Since 2002, Infinys, the leading convergent BSS software, has supported Brasil Telecom’s fixed telephony customers and, as of 2003, its wireless subscribers.

“As part of the new agreement, Convergys will provide consulting and professional services for software customization and implementation of the solution across Brasil Telecom’s lines of business,” said Dante Nardell Junior, Brasil Telecom CTO.

Brasil Telecom is one of the largest telecommunications companies in South America. The operator has over 10.8 million fixed lines installed, reaches over 2.2 million customers in mobile telephone services, and has the second largest broadband base in South America. [Read more…]

Amdocs Completes Acquisition of Cramer Systems

Amdocs (NYSE: DOX) , a provider of software and services to enable integrated customer management and the intentional customer experience(TM), today announced that it completed the acquisition of Cramer Systems Group Ltd. (Cramer), a leading provider of operations support systems (OSS). Amdocs acquired all of Cramer’s shares of capital stock for approximately $375 million in cash, net of cash on hand, subject to post-closing adjustments.

Veramark Wins Three New Orders

Veramark Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: VERA) has announced receipt of three significant VeraSMART orders. The orders have been received from a national publishing giant; a high-profile state government agency; and a large county government agency.

The publishing company plans to deploy the VeraSMART solution for 1,000 extensions on an Avaya(R) 8700 voice network. The customer purchased SMART Call Accounting to manage multiple business units and to provide access to data for all Business Unit Managers. Evolving Systems Reports Second Quarter Results for 2006

Evolving Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: EVOL), a provider of software solutions and services to the wireless, wireline and IP carrier market, today reported financial results for its second quarter and six month period ended June 30, 2006.

Second quarter revenue was $8.2 million, down 17% from $9.9 million in the same quarter last year. For the comparative second quarters, license fees and services revenue was $4.0 million versus $4.7 million while customer support revenue declined to $4.3 million from $5.2 million. The decline in revenue in the second quarter was in line with management’s expectations based on the effects of industry consolidation, pricing pressures and longer customer buying cycles. Revenue mix in the period included $4.3 million in Service Activation, $2.6 million in Numbering Solutions and $1.3 million in Mediation. [Read more…]

Veramark Announces Second Quarter 2006 Financial Results

Veramark Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: VERA) has announced financial results for the three and six months ended June 30, 2006. For the second quarter ended June 30, 2006, Veramark reported a net loss of $207,000, or $0.02 per share, on sales of $2,606,000. This compares with a net income of $250,000, or $0.03 per diluted share, on sales of $2,661,000 for the second quarter of 2005. For the six months ended June 30, 2006, Veramark’s net loss of $265,000 or $0.03 per share, on sales of $5,050,000 compares with a net profit of $164,000, or $0.02 per diluted share, on sales of $5,288,000 for the first six months of 2005. C-COR Transitions Service Management Assets to Sigma Systems

C-COR Incorporated (NASDAQ:CCBL)(www.c-cor.com) and Sigma Systems (www.sigma-systems.com) have announced that they have agreed to terms whereby C-COR will transition the product development and support for the C-COR Service Activation Manager (SAM) and Service Provisioning Manager (SPM) to Sigma Systems.

“This is about putting innovative OSS solutions on a fast track,” stated Robert Cruickshank, Vice President, OSS Market Strategy, C-COR. “For customers of our SAM and SPM, folding the technology and support of these products under Sigma Systems will provide them with broader flexibility and choice in service activation and provisioning functionality. For the cable industry, applying the combined experience and expertise of C-COR and Sigma to the OSS requirements of future converged network architectures will speed innovation and provide the shortest path to a fully integrated OSS solution for voice, video, and data over wireline or wireless networks.”

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed this quarter. Upon closing of the transaction, Sigma will obtain an exclusive interest from C-COR in the SAM and SPM products and assume all of the service provider licensing and software maintenance contracts for these products. C-COR will continue to wholly own its other OSS products, including Key Distribution Center (KDC), Policy Service Manager (PSM(TM)), Network Service Manager (NSM(TM)), Mobile Workforce Manager (MWM(TM)), and CableEdge(R).
