iGR Report Ranks ACE-COMM a Leading Developer of Parental Controls for the Youth Mobile Market

ACE*COMM Corporation (NASDAQ:ACEC), a provider of advanced OSS, value-added services, and network business intelligence solutions, today announced that an independent research report by iGR – “Mobile Phones, Children and Parental Controls”, August 2006 – has ranked ACE*COMM’s Parent Patrol(TM) as a leader in the parental controls marketplace. iGR is a market strategy consultancy focused on the wireless and mobile communications industry.

“From conversations with multiple mobile operators, we understand that the need to provide a solution that incorporates parental controls is one of the most pressing product strategies for wireless service providers today,” said Iain Gillott, wireless analyst at iGR and acknowledged mobile industry authority. “Our data clearly shows that there is a significant untapped mobile market with children, but the mobile operators must be responsible in addressing this opportunity. In the competitive wireless marketplace, operators need to provide the appropriate parental protection and management capabilities in order to responsibly target younger subscribers with parents’ blessings.”

According to the iGR report, “ACE*COMM, a leader in the parental control industry, is offering Parent Patrol and is a good example of a network-based product that has met with wide acceptance and a high level of interest from the mobile operators.” [Read more…]

TTI Telecom Reports Second Quarter 2006 Financial Results

TTI Team Telecom International Ltd. (NASDAQ: TTIL), (“TTI Telecom”), a global supplier of Operations Support Systems (OSS) to communications service providers, today announced results for its fiscal second quarter ended June 30, 2006. Total revenues for the second quarter were $12.6 million, an increase of 24% as compared to $10.2 million for the second quarter of 2005. Operating income for the quarter was $0.2 million, compared with an operating loss of $2.3 million for the same quarter of 2005, and net income was $0.2 million, or $0.01 per diluted share, versus a net loss of $2.3 million, or $0.20 per diluted share, in the same quarter last year. TTI Telecom ended the quarter with approximately $36.5 million in cash and liquid investments. [Read more…]

Comverse To Acquire Netonomy

Comverse, a subsidiary of Comverse Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMVT), and the world’s leading supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communication and billing services, has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire privately-held Netonomy for approximately $19 million in cash.

Raz Alon, interim CEO of Comverse Technology, said, “This acquisition is in line with our strategic efforts to continually enhance Comverse’s Total Communication Product Portfolio’s ability to generate revenues, strengthen customer loyalty and improve operational efficiency for communication service providers.”

Brasil Telecom Signs Contract with Convergys for Convergent Billing

Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG), a provider of customer care, human resources, and billing services, has announced a new five-year contract with Brasil Telecom S.A. (NYSE: BTM) to expand the use of Convergys’ Infinys [tm] software to support Brasil Telecom’s wireless, wireline, data, and Internet services. Since 2002, Infinys, the leading convergent BSS software, has supported Brasil Telecom’s fixed telephony customers and, as of 2003, its wireless subscribers.

“As part of the new agreement, Convergys will provide consulting and professional services for software customization and implementation of the solution across Brasil Telecom’s lines of business,” said Dante Nardell Junior, Brasil Telecom CTO.

Brasil Telecom is one of the largest telecommunications companies in South America. The operator has over 10.8 million fixed lines installed, reaches over 2.2 million customers in mobile telephone services, and has the second largest broadband base in South America. [Read more…]

Amdocs Completes Acquisition of Cramer Systems

Amdocs (NYSE: DOX) , a provider of software and services to enable integrated customer management and the intentional customer experience(TM), today announced that it completed the acquisition of Cramer Systems Group Ltd. (Cramer), a leading provider of operations support systems (OSS). Amdocs acquired all of Cramer’s shares of capital stock for approximately $375 million in cash, net of cash on hand, subject to post-closing adjustments.

Veramark Wins Three New Orders

Veramark Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: VERA) has announced receipt of three significant VeraSMART orders. The orders have been received from a national publishing giant; a high-profile state government agency; and a large county government agency.

The publishing company plans to deploy the VeraSMART solution for 1,000 extensions on an Avaya(R) 8700 voice network. The customer purchased SMART Call Accounting to manage multiple business units and to provide access to data for all Business Unit Managers. Evolving Systems Reports Second Quarter Results for 2006

Evolving Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: EVOL), a provider of software solutions and services to the wireless, wireline and IP carrier market, today reported financial results for its second quarter and six month period ended June 30, 2006.

Second quarter revenue was $8.2 million, down 17% from $9.9 million in the same quarter last year. For the comparative second quarters, license fees and services revenue was $4.0 million versus $4.7 million while customer support revenue declined to $4.3 million from $5.2 million. The decline in revenue in the second quarter was in line with management’s expectations based on the effects of industry consolidation, pricing pressures and longer customer buying cycles. Revenue mix in the period included $4.3 million in Service Activation, $2.6 million in Numbering Solutions and $1.3 million in Mediation. [Read more…]
