Multimedios Bolsters Customer Service Operations with C-COR

C-COR Incorporated (NASDAQ:CCBL) is expanding its global footprint in Latin America with the region’s first combined deployment of workforce management and network monitoring with Mexican operator Multimedios Redes. The package combines C-COR’s Mobile Workforce Manager (MWM) and CableEdge to enable advanced OSS functionality so that technicians and installers in Monterrey, Mexico, can proactively address customer service needs and monitor network performance second-by-second via mobile devices. Multimedios Redes is one of the first operators in Latin America to deploy automated workforce technology and is now also the first in the region to leverage the benefits of the integrated solution. ARRIS Group Acquires C-COR

ARRIS Group Inc. (Nasdaq: ARRS) and C-COR Incorporated (Nasdaq: CCBL) told OSS News Review today that they have entered into a definitive agreement whereby ARRIS will acquire C-COR for a purchase price of approximately $730 million in a mix of cash and ARRIS stock. With over 250 customers around the world, the companies collectively reported revenues of over $1.2 billion over the past twelve months and the merged company will be the largest pure-play provider of equipment and solutions to the cable industry. C-COR Launches Cable TV Services for Major Asian Travel Hubs

C-COR Incorporated (NASDAQ: CCBL), the cable industry’s leading supplier of 1GHz broadband access equipment, is providing the Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) networks of two major travel hubs in Asia. Singapore’s Changi Airport and Thailand’s new Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport are deploying C-COR’s 1GHz broadband amplifiers and optical transmission equipment to deliver an in-house suite of cable TV services. Comcast Media Center and C-COR On Demand Solution to Cable Systems

Comcast Media Center (CMC), a business unit of Comcast Cable, and C-COR Incorporated (NASDAQ: CCBL) has recently announced that the two companies are launching VOD In a Boxâ„¢, a pre-integrated on-demand solution designed to reduce the complexity, cost and time required to successfully deploy video on demand (VOD) in markets that serve 25,000 digital customers or fewer. Unity Media Extends C-COR Deployment in Germany

C-COR Incorporated (NASDAQ: CCBL) today announced that Unity Media, parent company of cable network operators ish and iesy, is expanding the deployment of C-COR’s CableEdge® solution into the Hessen region of Germany. Unity Media operates the largest interconnected cable network in Europe with more than 5.1 million households. CableEdge is an intelligent network management and planning software that collects and analyzes network traffic and performance data from cable modems, cable modem termination systems, and other DOCSIS®-compliant devices (such as HDTV and set-top boxes) to derive benchmarks for network service quality and provide expert recommendations to improve service levels. C-COR Transitions Service Management Assets to Sigma Systems

C-COR Incorporated (NASDAQ:CCBL)(www.c-cor.com) and Sigma Systems (www.sigma-systems.com) have announced that they have agreed to terms whereby C-COR will transition the product development and support for the C-COR Service Activation Manager (SAM) and Service Provisioning Manager (SPM) to Sigma Systems.

“This is about putting innovative OSS solutions on a fast track,” stated Robert Cruickshank, Vice President, OSS Market Strategy, C-COR. “For customers of our SAM and SPM, folding the technology and support of these products under Sigma Systems will provide them with broader flexibility and choice in service activation and provisioning functionality. For the cable industry, applying the combined experience and expertise of C-COR and Sigma to the OSS requirements of future converged network architectures will speed innovation and provide the shortest path to a fully integrated OSS solution for voice, video, and data over wireline or wireless networks.”

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed this quarter. Upon closing of the transaction, Sigma will obtain an exclusive interest from C-COR in the SAM and SPM products and assume all of the service provider licensing and software maintenance contracts for these products. C-COR will continue to wholly own its other OSS products, including Key Distribution Center (KDC), Policy Service Manager (PSM(TM)), Network Service Manager (NSM(TM)), Mobile Workforce Manager (MWM(TM)), and CableEdge(R).
