Interactive Enterprise Partners with Wave7 Optics

Interactive Enterprise Limited (IE) announced today that it has partnered with Wave7 Optics Inc., a leading supplier of fiber-to-the-home or -premises (FTTH/FTTP) equipment for residential and business services, to deliver an automated, end-to-end management and provisioning system for all operators of FTTH/FTTP networks.

Under the partnership, the companies will provide FTTP service providers with an integrated solution where IE’s automated provisioning and management system, Conexonâ„¢, will interoperate with Wave7 Optics’ Last Mile Link TM (LML) FTTP platform. This integrated solution will enable service providers to rapidly provision and manage “triple-play” broadband services including high-speed data, voice and video over FTTP networks in conjunction with the service provider’s existing OSS and BSS platforms. PrismTech Provides Anritsu with OpenFusion Middleware for Next-Generation Telecommunications Systems

Veramark Announces Significant Order from State Government Agency

Veramark Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: VERA) has announced receipt of a significant VeraSMART(R) order from a large state government agency. The agency plans to deploy the VeraSMART solution for 20,000 extensions at 34 sites with various Nortel VoIP and Legacy Meridian telephony platforms. VeraSMART’s Call Accounting module will be utilized to implement security measures and IP polling of remote sites for the agency.

Evolving Systems and American Telecommunications ATI Bring Next Gen Solutions to Latin America

Evolving Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: EVOL – News), a provider of software solutions and services to the wireless, wireline and IP carrier market, and American Telecommunications, Inc. (ATI), a solutions provider of advanced telecommunications systems and services, have announced their agreement to pursue new business in the Latin America market.

Ericsson Acquires Distocraft

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) has reached an agreement with Finnish company Distocraft Oy to acquire the assets of Distocraft’s business. The company, with 42 employees, specializes in software development for mobile network performance management.

Kurt Jofs, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Business Unit Access, Ericsson, says: “I am pleased to announce this acquisition. It will further strengthen our ability to support our customers with best-in-class network management, allowing them to focus on the introduction of attractive end-user services.”

With this acquisition, Ericsson will expand the capabilities of its market-leading OSS portfolio, addressing both new technologies, such as HSPA (High-Speed Packet Access), IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) and 3G LTE (3G Long-Term Evolution), and multivendor environments. [Read more…]

Evolving Systems Reports Second Quarter Results for 2006

Evolving Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: EVOL), a provider of software solutions and services to the wireless, wireline and IP carrier market, today reported financial results for its second quarter and six month period ended June 30, 2006.

Second quarter revenue was $8.2 million, down 17% from $9.9 million in the same quarter last year. For the comparative second quarters, license fees and services revenue was $4.0 million versus $4.7 million while customer support revenue declined to $4.3 million from $5.2 million. The decline in revenue in the second quarter was in line with management’s expectations based on the effects of industry consolidation, pricing pressures and longer customer buying cycles. Revenue mix in the period included $4.3 million in Service Activation, $2.6 million in Numbering Solutions and $1.3 million in Mediation. [Read more…]

MTS Announces Second Quarter 2006 Financial Results

MTS-Mer Telemanagement Solutions Ltd. (Nasdaq Capital Market: MTSL), a global provider of business support systems (BSS) for comprehensive telecommunication management and customer care & billing (CC&B) solutions, today announces its financial results for the second quarter of 2006, ended June 30, 2006.

Revenues for the second quarter were $2.7 million, compared with revenues of $2.8 million in the second quarter of 2005. Revenues for the six month period ended June 30, 2006 were $5.52 million, compared with revenues of $5.54 for the 2005 six month period. [Read more…]

C-COR Transitions Service Management Assets to Sigma Systems

C-COR Incorporated (NASDAQ:CCBL)(www.c-cor.com) and Sigma Systems (www.sigma-systems.com) have announced that they have agreed to terms whereby C-COR will transition the product development and support for the C-COR Service Activation Manager (SAM) and Service Provisioning Manager (SPM) to Sigma Systems.

“This is about putting innovative OSS solutions on a fast track,” stated Robert Cruickshank, Vice President, OSS Market Strategy, C-COR. “For customers of our SAM and SPM, folding the technology and support of these products under Sigma Systems will provide them with broader flexibility and choice in service activation and provisioning functionality. For the cable industry, applying the combined experience and expertise of C-COR and Sigma to the OSS requirements of future converged network architectures will speed innovation and provide the shortest path to a fully integrated OSS solution for voice, video, and data over wireline or wireless networks.”

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed this quarter. Upon closing of the transaction, Sigma will obtain an exclusive interest from C-COR in the SAM and SPM products and assume all of the service provider licensing and software maintenance contracts for these products. C-COR will continue to wholly own its other OSS products, including Key Distribution Center (KDC), Policy Service Manager (PSM(TM)), Network Service Manager (NSM(TM)), Mobile Workforce Manager (MWM(TM)), and CableEdge(R). Clarity Wins OSS Contract With 3G Operator PT Hutchison CP Telecommunications

Clarity International, a supplier of next generation Operational Support Systems (OSS) has won a contract with Indonesia’s 3G Telecom Operator PT Hutchison CP Telecommunications (HCPT) to provide highly scalable real-time provisioning of mobile services.

“3G operators face a number of complex convergence challenges,” says Angela Dickenson Senior VP Strategy of Clarity. “3G networks mean deployment and management of both traditional mobile as well as next generation IP technology. 3G services necessitate on-demand delivery of innovative application and content services, as well as traditional voice and messaging services to the subscriber’s mobile phone. Clarity OSS has been uniquely designed to support convergent delivery of voice, data, application and content services over legacy and next generation networks and we are very excited to see the continued adoption of Clarity by 3G mobile service providers.”

HCPT and its prime systems integrator Tech Mahindra, selected Clarity OSS for real-time, zero-touch provisioning of subscriber services. “We selected Clarity from a competitive field because of the system’s scalability and configurability. HCPT anticipates significant growth in subscriber volumes in the next few years and we also needed an OSS that can be easily configured to deploy new services quickly. Dittberner Associates Says Telecom Billing, Real-Time Charging and Interconnect Billing Software Market Grow

According to analysis recently published by Dittberner Associates, the telecom billing industry, previously written off as a “mature market”, is now catching its second wave of growth. Dittberner forecasts the billing sector will grow at a 3.7% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from $4.6 billion in 2005 to $5.5 billion in 2010.

InfoVista Closes Fiscal Year of Sustained Growth on a Record Fourth Quarter

MTS Mer Telemanagement Solutions to Acquire Telecom Expense Management Assets of TelSoft Solutions

MTS, Mer Telemanagement Solutions Ltd. (NASDAQ Capital Market: MTSL), a provider of business support systems (BSS) for comprehensive telecommunication management and customer care & billing solutions, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the telecom expense management and call accounting software assets of TelSoft Solutions, Inc. of Glendale, California. The acquisition will expand MTS’ TEM (Telecommunications Expense Management) solution.

“This acquisition is in line with our business objectives and delivers on our strategy to improve our market position, accelerate growth and profitability and as a result enhance shareholder value,” said Eytan Bar, President and CEO of MTS.

Under the terms of the agreement, MTS will acquire certain assets of TelSoft and assume certain enumerated liabilities. MTS will pay TelSoft $1.1 million in cash plus earn-out payments based on revenue milestones for the 12 month period following the acquisition. The acquisition is expected to be completed on July 31, 2006. [Read more…]
