Xero Mobile Completes Phase Three of Implementation Plan

Xero Mobile’s (Pink Sheets:XRMB) revolutionary ad-subsidized mobile phone service for college students is entering its pilot testing phase, the company recently announced, after completing the design and implementation of its core systems with technology partner XIUS.

Xero features TV-style ads with better ability to measure viewership than direct mail, the accountability of the Web and the intimacy of mobile, and unlike many competitors, has developed its own integrated telecommunications solution to provide a range of services. [Read more…]

Expenditure on New Mobile Phone Charging Systems to Grow 30 Percent

Juniper Research has forecast that the annual growth rate for expenditure on new convergent mobile prepaid/postpaid solutions will average 30% per annum to 2011. Expenditure is forecast to grow from $299m in 2006 to just over $1.1bn by 2011 as operators strive for competitive advantage and improved operational efficiency. The largest expenditure over the 2006 to 2011 period is forecast to be in Europe due to the complex legacy charging environments installed in most established operators. [Read more…]

Vistula Communication Services Acquires Goodman Blue Limited

Vistula Communications Services, Inc. (“Vistula”) (OTC Bulletin Board: VSTL) (http://www.vistula.com), a global supplier of flexible and reliable Voice over IP (“VoIP”) services to major telecommunications carriers and Internet Service Providers, has acquired Goodman Blue Limited (“Goodman Blue”), a UK systems integration and software house.

Goodman Blue provides a software package that allows service providers, of any kind, to deliver real-time, self-service and fully automated, provisioning, rating, billing, service management and reporting of telecom and other services. For Vistula and its customers this software sits on the outside of V-Cube(TM)(1) so that service providers can create hands-off management of their customers’ billable activity. LHS Generates 1125 Million Invoices Per Hour for Billing and Customer Care

LHS, a leading provider of telecommunications and billing software, has revealed the results of a breakthrough performance test for its fully convergent billing and customer care system, BSCS iX. On an enterprise-class Sun Fire E25K server equipped with 72 UltraSPARC IV processors at 1,5 GHz processor, BSCS iX generated 1.125 million invoices per hour supporting 40 million customers. PAETEC captured both the 2006 Metro Wholesale PRI Product Award and the Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) Best-in-Class Service Partner Award. Interactive Enterprise Partners with Wave7 Optics

Interactive Enterprise Limited (IE) announced today that it has partnered with Wave7 Optics Inc., a leading supplier of fiber-to-the-home or -premises (FTTH/FTTP) equipment for residential and business services, to deliver an automated, end-to-end management and provisioning system for all operators of FTTH/FTTP networks.

Under the partnership, the companies will provide FTTP service providers with an integrated solution where IE’s automated provisioning and management system, Conexonâ„¢, will interoperate with Wave7 Optics’ Last Mile Link TM (LML) FTTP platform. This integrated solution will enable service providers to rapidly provision and manage “triple-play” broadband services including high-speed data, voice and video over FTTP networks in conjunction with the service provider’s existing OSS and BSS platforms. Veramark Announces Significant Order from State Government Agency

Veramark Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: VERA) has announced receipt of a significant VeraSMART(R) order from a large state government agency. The agency plans to deploy the VeraSMART solution for 20,000 extensions at 34 sites with various Nortel VoIP and Legacy Meridian telephony platforms. VeraSMART’s Call Accounting module will be utilized to implement security measures and IP polling of remote sites for the agency.

Evolving Systems and American Telecommunications ATI Bring Next Gen Solutions to Latin America

Evolving Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: EVOL – News), a provider of software solutions and services to the wireless, wireline and IP carrier market, and American Telecommunications, Inc. (ATI), a solutions provider of advanced telecommunications systems and services, have announced their agreement to pursue new business in the Latin America market.

Ericsson Acquires Distocraft

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) has reached an agreement with Finnish company Distocraft Oy to acquire the assets of Distocraft’s business. The company, with 42 employees, specializes in software development for mobile network performance management.

Kurt Jofs, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Business Unit Access, Ericsson, says: “I am pleased to announce this acquisition. It will further strengthen our ability to support our customers with best-in-class network management, allowing them to focus on the introduction of attractive end-user services.”

With this acquisition, Ericsson will expand the capabilities of its market-leading OSS portfolio, addressing both new technologies, such as HSPA (High-Speed Packet Access), IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) and 3G LTE (3G Long-Term Evolution), and multivendor environments. [Read more…]

Evolving Systems Reports Second Quarter Results for 2006

Evolving Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: EVOL), a provider of software solutions and services to the wireless, wireline and IP carrier market, today reported financial results for its second quarter and six month period ended June 30, 2006.

Second quarter revenue was $8.2 million, down 17% from $9.9 million in the same quarter last year. For the comparative second quarters, license fees and services revenue was $4.0 million versus $4.7 million while customer support revenue declined to $4.3 million from $5.2 million. The decline in revenue in the second quarter was in line with management’s expectations based on the effects of industry consolidation, pricing pressures and longer customer buying cycles. Revenue mix in the period included $4.3 million in Service Activation, $2.6 million in Numbering Solutions and $1.3 million in Mediation. [Read more…]
