Telenet Deploys MetaSolv for Digital TV Activation

8:47 pm   -   May 16th, 2006

MetaSolv Software, Inc., a leader in comprehensive operations support system solutions for next-generation communications service providers, today announced that Telenet has successfully deployed MetaSolv’s convergent service activation platform for Digital TV services. Telenet is the largest provider of broadband cable services in Belgium – including cable television, high speed internet and telephony services – with over 1.8 million subscribers.

Telenet’s converged services require a converged cross-domain activation platform - a single order of complex services can trigger activation and configuration requirements in multiple domains, including POTS, VoIP, Digital TV, and DSL-Broadband, all of which are supported by MetaSolv’s activation solution.

MetaSolv provides a convergent, multi-service activation platform, which enables Telenet to offer triple-play services – voice, video and data – on a common broadband infrastructure. MetaSolv’s extensive expertise in advanced IP services deployment, coupled with its robust and flexible activation platform, allowed Telenet to upgrade its OSS rapidly and efficiently. Telenet has been successfully using MetaSolv’s activation solution for voice and broadband IP data services, including VoIP, which made MetaSolv the logical choice for Telenet’s transition to Digital TV.

“Our long term partnership with MetaSolv coupled with their clear IP leadership gave us confidence that they could support our evolving activation needs,” said Dirk Van Dessel, Senior Vice President Informations System & PMO of Telenet. “The MetaSolv activation platform is highly flexible and scalable, allowing us to quickly and efficiently deploy new services, ultimately expanding our subscriber base and revenue stream.”

MetaSolv’s multi-vendor, multi-service activation capabilities have been deployed by more than 75 operators in over 26 countries for an array of services including VoIP, IPTV, IP VPN, mobile, broadband, voice and data. MetaSolv currently provisions numerous services over multiple network technologies for approximately 200 million subscribers globally.

“We are pleased to have been selected to automate activation for Telenet’s new Digital TV services, as part of its triple-play offering, enabling rapid time to market and reduced operating costs,” said David Sharpley, MetaSolv’s executive vice president of marketing and product management. “Telenet is another powerful example of the significant value unleashed by MetaSolv in the delivery of mass-market triple-play services.”
