Comarch Partners with du for Cutting-Edge OSS Transformation in UAE

Posted on July 25, 2024 Written by oss

Comarch, a renowned IT solutions provider, has inked a significant contract with du, a prominent player under Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), to overhaul its network inventory and topology management. This strategic partnership aims to enhance du’s operational efficiency and service excellence by implementing advanced OSS (Operations Support System) solutions.

A Leap Towards Digital Agility

The collaboration between Comarch and du marks a pivotal step towards transforming du’s current OSS into a more agile and flexible system. The revamped OSS will integrate the latest infrastructure automation paradigms, asset management, and dynamic near real-time infrastructure topology stitching and refresh. This transformation is in line with du’s strategic goals of achieving operational and service excellence.

Saleem Alblooshi, Chief Technology Officer at du, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership: “We selected Comarch as our partner primarily due to their comprehensive OSS portfolio, collaborative approach, and high level of expertise necessary to accomplish this digital transformation. The successful implementation of this solution brings us closer to achieving du’s strategic vision of digital agility, reduces our time to market, and empowers us to deploy emerging technologies faster than ever before.”

Innovative Solutions for Comprehensive Management

The core of this transformation is the implementation of Comarch’s commercial off-the-shelf modules from their OSS portfolio. These modules, part of Comarch’s Resource Management product line, are designed to manage all types of logical and physical resources within du’s network environment. The innovative multi-vendor, multi-technology inventory solution for du covers several domains, including RAN (5G, 4G, 3G, 2G), transport (SDM, WDM, IP), mobile and fixed core, fixed access (GPON, Ethernet), and passive components. Recently, Comarch has also integrated data center management and virtualization features.

Pawe? Workiewicz, Head of Business Development Division APAC & MEA at Comarch, highlighted the significance of this partnership: “Joining Bridge Alliance as a technology partner opens the door to many new opportunities we are eager to explore. Combining our technological expertise with Bridge Alliance’s extensive network will pave the way for us to scale our solutions and address the complex challenges of today’s telecommunications beyond borders.”

Key Benefits and Features

The revamped OSS system offers several benefits:

  • Enhanced Operational Management: Intuitive wizards and comprehensive data collected during migration and reconciliation significantly improve operational management.
  • Auto-Discovery and Reconciliation: This module provides du with a clear overview of all network elements and their configurations, ensuring the system stays up-to-date with the latest vendor releases.
  • Cost Savings: The transformation results in cost savings in network inventory and operation, synergy in tracking new assets, and simplification of planning processes.
  • Improved Time to Market: The system reduces the time to market for new technologies, automating new network technology deployments.
  • Enhanced Reporting and Analytics: The system’s BI Point allows for real-time monitoring of network resource usage, site development, and data quality measures.

A Bright Future Ahead

As du continues its journey towards digital transformation, the partnership with Comarch represents a significant milestone. The comprehensive OSS portfolio provided by Comarch will enable du to increase automation and standardization, supporting the rollout of new technologies such as 5G and NFV, enhancing data synchronization and integrity, and reducing operational costs.
