7:05 am   -   April 24th, 2007

Intec, a global provider of business and operations support systems (BSS/OSS), has been selected by QUALCOMM’s Wireless Business Solutions division to provide technology for the division’s next-generation billing system. The agreement includes software and services for Intec Convergent Billing and Intec Mediation usage event pre-processing, deployed as a fully integrated mediation, rating/billing and reporting platform to initially service domestic market customers, followed by international markets in a later phase.

“We chose Intec not only for its ability to deliver market-leading products rapidly to meet our business and technical objectives, but also for its expertise and understanding of the telecom market worldwide,” said Peter Rubenacker, senior director of information technology at QUALCOMM Wireless Business Solutions. “The Intec solution is clearly able to support both our existing services as well as the next-generation services we plan to offer in the future.”

A comprehensive transaction management and billing solution, Intec Convergent Billing optimizes business processes, maximizes productivity and minimizes errors with best-in-class technology and billing operations capabilities. QUALCOMM leverages Intec Convergent Billing’s open and extensible architecture, which facilitates information flow-through and eases integration to other legacy (or emerging) applications within its infrastructure.

More than 60 leading global carriers and MVNOs, in fixed, wireless, 3G and IP, rely on Intec Convergent Billing to deliver pre-paid, post-paid and real-time billing, from a single platform, for all their services. Built using modern, industry-standard technologies, Intec Convergent Billing is proven in production at some of the world’s largest and most innovative carriers. It is compatible with all major network technologies and services in use today and, as part of the wider Intec product family, is supported by carrier-grade solutions in areas such as convergent mediation, activation and interconnect.

The delivery and support of Intec software solutions is backed by a team of more than 1,000 product specialists operating from Intec offices around the globe. The QUALCOMM implementation will be supported from Intec’s Regional Centres of Excellence in North America.
