Evolving Systems

Evolving Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ-EVOL), a leading provider of software solutions and services to the wireless, wireline and IP carrier market, has told OSS News Review that its Tertio™ Service Activation solution has been selected by a global tier 1 telecommunications group with wireless operations in Asia, Latin America and Africa, for deployment in seven countries.

The carrier selected Evolving Systems’ Tertio solution after a thorough evaluation of the leading service activation solutions available in the industry. The main driver for the decision was the need for a proven solution that could easily and cost-effectively provision each operator’s service offerings including IP and 3G services across a multi-vendor, multi-technology network infrastructure.

Under the agreements, Tertio implementations will be phased according to a schedule of accelerated deployments in Latin America and Africa that will run in parallel. Evolving Systems’ professional services group will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery and support of the implementations. Once in production, Tertio will provide a single convergent service activation platform to enable the provisioning of advanced services, including prepaid and post-paid voice, voice-mail, MMS and other advanced services, on the carrier’s GSM networks.

“Evolving Systems is pleased to have been selected as the sole vendor for this multi-country, multi-region project,” said Thad Dupper, president and CEO of Evolving Systems. “This global carrier is experiencing tremendous growth and wanted a partner who could keep pace with them in the Asian, Latin American and African wireless markets. We are confident Evolving Systems’ service activation solution and services will meet their needs today as well as in the future.”

Evolving Systems’ Tertio Service Activation solution enables operators to replace legacy and custom-built service activation solutions with a solution that can be cheaper and easier to operate. The solution helps operators manage growth by reducing the time to activate services, decreasing the number of errors and lowering the cost of operations. The Tertio solution, which supports Linux as well as various commercial UNIX® products, offers operators a cost-effective and scalable choice of hardware architectures. It also provides graphical tools to enable rapid service modeling, service assembly and service integration to speed up service rollout and make it simpler for carriers to use their own staff to maintain and enhance the system.
