Telenor Deploys Polystar’s Global Roaming Quality solution

Posted on February 17, 2009 Written by oss

Polystar OSIX announced today its successful involvement in the GSMA Global Roaming Quality program and the first commercial installation of Global Roaming Quality (GRQ) solution.

Global Roaming Quality is a new framework for Roaming Service Level Agreements (RSLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Quality of Service (QoS) and is aimed to further improve roaming services availability and performance. This framework was tested during Q1 2008, performed in co-operation with a number of telecom operators and network monitoring suppliers. Polystar OSIX, being an active member of this project, has successfully participated in the trial and demonstrated the validity of the proposed framework for roaming QoS monitoring.

Polystar has already completed its first commercial installation of the GRQ solution at Telenor Sweden. Telenor Sweden took the initiative to contribute to the GRQ framework in collaboration with Polystar.

“Telenor to a great extent benefits from this innovative framework, being a joint development of Polystar and Telenor. This tailored solution provides a comprehensive in-depth customer experience and service quality view, as well as an end-to-end monitoring capabilities between Telenor network and our roaming partners,” said Torbjörn Pettersson, Senior Roaming Specialist at Telenor Sweden. “Polystar GRQ solution significantly complements implemented earlier Network Monitoring applications and helps us to increase efficiency and improve roaming profit margin.”

“Polystar highly values the longstanding partnership with Telenor Sweden. Together we have built a strong business relationship and look forward to continue to serve the constantly evolving needs of Telenor, by providing innovative, tailored and unique solutions,” said Fredrik Edwall, Global Account Director at Polystar. “By taking an active role in the GRQ project within the GSMA, we have been able launching a product that is exactly in-line with what the market requests.”
