STL and TruVista Join Forces to Boost Rural Connectivity in South Carolina

Posted on September 11, 2023 Written by oss

South Carolina, September 11, 2023 – STL (NSE: STLTECH), a prominent optical and digital solutions company, has entered into a strategic partnership with TruVista, a seasoned provider of broadband services with over a century of experience. The aim of this collaboration is to spearhead the development and enhancement of South Carolina’s rural connectivity infrastructure.

Both STL and TruVista, headquartered in South Carolina, are making substantial investments in manufacturing and expanding fiber networks within the state. STL has made a considerable investment in a cutting-edge fiber optic technology manufacturing facility located in Lugoff, South Carolina. This facility is equipped with state-of-the-art end-to-end automation technology. Likewise, TruVista is dedicating over $12 million to rural broadband expansion, with a significant portion of these funds directed towards South Carolina. This initiative aims to extend fiber optic connectivity to remote areas of South Carolina, offering residents access to reliable internet at speeds of up to 1 Gbps. This strategic alignment sets the stage for a long-lasting and mutually beneficial partnership between the two companies.

Since 2021, STL has been providing specialized optical fiber cables, including multi-loose tube and high-fiber count cables, to TruVista. The collaboration has also seen the supply of advanced cable types like the Nova A1, a high-performance fiber optic cable known for its exceptional bending properties. These contributions enable TruVista to efficiently deploy FTTX (Fiber to the X) systems across South Carolina. TruVista has further leveraged STL’s comprehensive optical capabilities by procuring STL’s Optical Connectivity products, such as the MST Optoblaze, a pre-connectorized FTTH (Fiber to the Home) optical connector. This choice accelerates installation processes, particularly in diverse terrains.

Establishing a strong partnership based on shared values of quality, trust, and agility, TruVista has emerged as one of STL’s first and foremost customers. STL’s local manufacturing facility in South Carolina and its commitment to shorter lead times have played a pivotal role in helping TruVista expedite its broadband deployment while ensuring network quality and longevity. Notably, TruVista even provides fiber connectivity to STL’s Optical Fiber Cable facility in South Carolina, underscoring the collaborative nature of this partnership. Looking ahead, STL is actively working to further expand this partnership, with an eye on continuing rural FTTH deployment in South Carolina and beyond.

Paul Atkinson, CEO of STL’s Optical Networking Business, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “Partnering with TruVista to build rural connectivity infrastructure in South Carolina is an exhilarating opportunity for us. At STL, we are committed to bringing the power of fiber optics to every corner of the state, ensuring no community is left behind. Together, with TruVista, we will empower individuals, businesses, and the entire region with fast, reliable, and transformative connectivity.”

Carla J French, CEO of TruVista, shared her thoughts on the partnership, saying, “TruVista is committed to bringing high-speed fiber broadband to as much of our served communities as possible and beyond. This partnership signifies a powerful synergy, combining our expertise and resources to unlock untapped opportunities for rural communities. Together, we will empower our South Carolina-served communities with the transformative power of connectivity. Our shared enthusiasm propels us forward, driven by the belief that every individual, regardless of their location, deserves access to the world at their fingertips.”
