Posted on March 13, 2006 Written by oss

LEAD IP Systems, an innovative developer and supplier of full turn-key IP-Telephony & data security access systems, has introduced LEAD TelcoSuite1500(TM) — a high-capacity SIP SoftSwitch which is the latest member of the LEAD Access System for Telephony carriers, ISPs and telecom operators.

The TelcoSuite1500(TM) SoftSwitch expands the switching capabilities of the LEAD access system and leverage it, including a long list of additional value-added services, to handle carrier class networks with hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Having a capacity of 1.5 million busy-hour-call- attempts (BHCA) per switching server, the cascadeable solution is suitable for over 300,000 subscribers.

LEAD’s TelcoSuite400(TM), aimed at small to medium ISPs and telecom operators, can handle 400,000 BHCA which reflects about 80,000 subscribers per switch.

“The impressive, carrier grade, BHCA we quote includes application services, calls authentication and billing mediation handling” — said Oded Tubias, LEAD IP marketing director — “by cascading and distributing TelcoSuite SoftSwitches, the solution fits any growing Telephony operator’s needs”.

Being a SIP SoftSwitch, both TelcoSuite400(TM) and TelcoSuite1500(TM) are designed to handle all multimedia traffic as a preparation for the IP and 3G cellular convergence and services (e.g. IM, video, audio).

The TelcoSuite package further includes value-added services in addition to its basic switching capabilities. Services includes: all variants of call- diverting (“follow-me”), Unified messaging Voice Mail, 3 way conference support, Call waiting, Multiple Numbering (MSN), Caller-ID (including CLIR), Call filtering, Speed dialing, hot-line calls and much more.

All services are web controlled, could be easily activated by the operator’s CRM system and can be handled by the end-user by dialing services ETSI standard codes.

Using a built-in robust Oracle database, the TelcoSuite handles all security AAA issues, Intelligent Network (IN) management as well as mediating billing records (CDRs) for all transaction — including application level information. This billing information is extracted to the operator’s billing systems as well as is immediately available as web pages activity list for the end-user.

To ensure carrier grade five nines Availability-of-Service, the Oracle database and the system is fully redundant with auto swappable capabilities.
