IBM and Traffix Join Forces for Service Delivery Environment

Posted on February 11, 2009 Written by oss

Traffix successfully completed validation of its Rosetta NGN Gateway for Telecom Service Providers for the IBM Service Provider Delivery Environment (SPDE) Framework. SPDE is an open, scalable, flexible and SOA-based telecom industry framework which is horizontally integrated and accelerates the end-to-end telecom service lifecycle from creation and execution of a service, service quality assurance, security, and ongoing management and maintenance of a service.

The IBM SPDE Framework initiative brings together platform-independent software vendors that deliver proven solutions designed and built for service providers. Through this initiative, IBM works with select IBM Business Partners to validate solutions that meet a rigorous assessment of next-generation, open-standards-based store environments.

Traffix portfolio of NGN Service control products includes:

*** Rosetta NGN Gateway – Bridging NGN and IMS Diameter based services with legacy protocols such as RADIUS, LDAP and HTML; and

*** Prism Diameter Load Balancer – Enables to manage, secure, and scale NGN and IMS networks, by using advanced Diameter Load Balancing mechanisms.

“With the full integration to IBM environment we can offer our clients a best of breed joint IBM and Traffix solution that enables to cut service deployment complexity and to launch new services while using existing legacy infrastructure. The tuned integration to WebSphere Application Server enables to meet market performance requirements and delivers telecom needed reliability, to meet Service Providers strict requirements. We are looking forward to strengthen the cooperation with IBM,” said Ben Volkow, Traffix CEO.

The IBM and Traffix Rosetta NGN Gateway solution enables Service Providers to lower new NGN services deployment costs and accelerate time to market.

The Rosetta enables operators to plug and launch new services in a transparent manner across NGN and legacy networks and to connect network functionality across different wireline and wireless technologies and standards.

Traffix and IBM deliver a joint NGN Gateway solution to both legacy and NGN subscribers, easing the launch of new services while using existing network functionality:

*** Leverages open standards and Industry Frameworks, which allow operators to run the solution on multiple devices and platforms and provides the flexibility and scalability to customize the solution to their system;

*** Integrates with operator’s existing environment, enabling their organization to protect their existing investments; and

*** Adapts to shifting conditions by quickly changing out services and integrating multiple back-end systems while providing a seamless user experience.
