How Comarch Is Shaping the Future of Telecommunications in the Middle East

Posted on April 17, 2025 Written by oss

Comarch, one of Europe’s leading IT providers, has strengthened its operations in the Middle East, a market known for its explosive growth in telecommunications. With more than two decades of steady investment in the region, Comarch now boasts three regional offices, two advanced data centers, and a series of strategic partnerships with major telecom players, including du, Etisalat by e&, and STC.

The company’s latest initiatives focus on expanding customer service and network management solutions that align with regional legal and technical standards. These moves come as Middle Eastern operators continue to drive digital innovation and look for partners who understand the specific dynamics of this diverse market.

A Track Record of Recognition and Results

Comarch’s commitment was spotlighted recently at the 18th edition of the Telecom Review Leaders’ Summit. The company received a Certificate of Appreciation for its role in advancing regional telecommunications initiatives. Toni Eid, founder of the Telecom Review Group, praised Comarch’s contributions to the event’s success and to the broader telecommunications industry.

Further affirming its leadership, Comarch and du were jointly honored with the “Best Digital Transformation Provider – Middle East” award at the Telecom Review Excellence Awards 2024. The accolades did not stop there. In February 2025, Comarch secured another major win at the Asian Telecom Awards, receiving the “Digital Initiative of the Year – United Arab Emirates” title. These recognitions underscore the company’s consistent ability to deliver impactful digital transformation projects.

A Deep-Rooted Presence Backed by Infrastructure

Since opening its first office in the region in 2004, Comarch has steadily expanded its footprint. Today, it operates two offices in the United Arab Emirates and one in Saudi Arabia. Its two modern data centers provide high-level security and service reliability, key requirements for a market that demands both performance and compliance.

Pawe? Workiewicz, Chief Commercial Officer of Comarch’s Telecommunications Division, emphasized that success in the region stems from combining innovative products with strong, localized teams. This blend allows Comarch to build solutions that fit both the needs of telecom operators and the high expectations of tech-savvy consumers.

Technology and Services Shaping the Region’s Telecom Future

Comarch’s solutions portfolio includes BSS (Business Support Systems) and OSS (Operations Support Systems), which streamline operator processes, enhance network control, and speed up new service launches. These capabilities are crucial in a market characterized by high mobile usage rates and intense competition.

Operators rely on Comarch’s systems to introduce new offerings swiftly, improve customer experience, and maintain a competitive edge. Advanced network management tools, often powered by artificial intelligence, help operators increase automation and infrastructure independence—critical factors in a market pushing toward full 5G and IoT deployment.

Market Dynamics: Opportunity and Intensity

The Middle Eastern telecommunications sector is defined by rapid innovation and unique demands. Mobile penetration is exceptionally high, while fixed-line infrastructure remains less widespread in some areas. This landscape creates opportunities for mobile-first services and the rapid adoption of emerging technologies.

At the same time, operators face aggressive competition. Price wars and customer loyalty challenges are common, pushing providers to constantly innovate. Regulatory requirements around data localization and cybersecurity further complicate the deployment of cloud-based solutions, requiring service providers to adapt with localized, compliant infrastructure strategies.

Preparing for the Next Phase of Growth

Looking ahead, Comarch plans to deepen its investment in customer service and AI-driven network management. The company is already expanding its portfolio to match rising demand for advanced digital solutions across the region.

Szymon Uczciwek, Vice President of Business Growth & Strategy – MEA, stated that growing investments in artificial intelligence and digital transformation projects across the Middle East present strong opportunities. Comarch’s on-the-ground partnerships and technical expertise position it to capitalize on these trends.

The Middle East continues to attract global technology leaders by offering a combination of massive growth potential and innovation-driven demand. For Comarch, the region offers an environment where forward-thinking telecommunications solutions are not just welcomed—they are needed.

A Global Leader Building on Local Strength

Founded in Kraków, Poland in 1993, Comarch has evolved into one of Europe’s largest IT providers. The company serves major global brands across industries such as telecommunications, finance, retail, healthcare, and infrastructure. Its client list includes giants like Allianz, Carrefour, Telefónica, and Vodafone.

Comarch reinvests 15% of its annual revenues into research and development. In 2023 alone, it spent EUR 85 million on R&D, supporting innovation across its operations. With more than 6,400 employees in over 80 offices worldwide, Comarch continues to combine global reach with a sharp local focus, helping clients adapt and thrive in an increasingly digital economy.

Comarch’s focused investment in infrastructure, strategic partnerships, and award-winning digital solutions has cemented its role as a leading technology partner for the Middle East’s booming telecommunications market. As innovation accelerates and competition sharpens, Comarch’s combination of experience, local engagement, and technological expertise ensures it remains a trusted partner for regional operators eager to stay ahead.
