FTS Announces Availability of Leap Billing Version 4

Posted on January 16, 2007 Written by oss

FTS (LSE: FTS), a global provider of Business Control, Billing and CRM solutions for communications service providers, has announced the availability of Leap(tm) Billing version 4.0, a carrier grade, next generation converged pre/post solution for wireless, wire-line, cable, ISP, and multi-play service providers.

Comprised of fully integrated customer care and billing, Leap Billing version 4.0 delivers a true pre/post converged solution, offering nlimited flexibility in Billing and unprecedented time-to-market for any communication service. The solution is currently deployed or being implemented worldwide.

By deploying Leap Billing, service providers can create additional revenue by billing for new multi-play services that cannot be billed using their current systems. The solution enables providers to increase customer satisfaction by empowering subscribers to control their own service package, modifying and provisioning without a customer service representative intervention.

The new version is focused on supporting the emerging need to address customer interaction in real time taking into account multiple services and access networks. Through a holistic service view, it provides real-time event analysis, execution, and charging.

Version 4.0 introduce a superior Online Charging Engine which combines highly flexible charging and Business Control capabilities, with the most demanding performance and robustness required for Prepaid IN systems. Business Control supplements the Online Charging Engine by handling events from a business stand point, not just charging them, hence allowing the service provider to explore new revenue opportunities while increasing customer satisfaction.

System performance, throughput and response time is improved through the introduction of 64bit executables and better memory utilization. Leap Billing version 4.0 achieves linear performance scalability, high availability and excellent performance measurement.

Furthermore, the new version is equipped with a state-of-the-art Voucher Management system, allowing any customer, regardless of their payment method, to purchase and replenish with vouchers. The Voucher management module provides complete voucher lifecycle management, including bulk and lot generation, ordering, distribution, and recharging accounts or specific services and content.

“Leap Billing solutions revolutionized the billing arena by introducing a real time Business Control Layer into the OSS/BSS fabric,” said Yair Sakov, VP Marketing & Business Development. “It allows Service Providers to address customer events both form a billing stand point but more importantly, from a business stand point bringing out new value and revenue opportunities. Implemented with providers around the world, Leap Billing is a robust and scalable platform addressing the key needs of today’s multi-service provider environment.”

Sakov continued, “By providing a single Rating engine, a single CRM solution and a single product catalog, Leap Billing Version 4.0 offers true convergence on multiple levels.”

Leap Billing Version 4.0 is based on FTS’ Leap(tm) BCCF, a Business Control Layer technology which can dynamically adapt network or service behavior, at the customer level, by capturing customer interaction events in real-time and responding in real-time based on a pre-configured set of business rules.

FTS will be exhibiting Leap Billing, along with its full range of Business Control, Billing and CRM solutions on stand 2B53 at 3GSM in Barcelona from 12 to 15th February. FTS will also be participating in a panel discussion on ‘Exploring the billing challenges surrounding the introduction of innovative content-based services’.
