Cramer to Play Essential Role in IBM Off-the-Shelf Triple-Play OSS Solution; Solution to Enable Carriers to Efficiently Roll Out Triple Play Offering

Posted on January 24, 2006 Written by oss

Enterprise OSS software leader Cramer today announced its Enterprise Inventory Management solution will be integrated into the IBM Service Delivery Platform (SDP) for Triple Play, a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) OSS product that will enable telecom operators to quickly and efficiently deliver voice, data and video service bundles.

The IBM SDP for Triple Play is expected to be the telecom industry’s first pre-integrated ecosystem of software to support the Triple Play Offering. Cramer’s inventory-powered process automation solution will play a central role in Triple Play network lifecycle management, supporting network planning, real-time Triple Play services provisioning, and service assurance data enrichment and resolution. Cramer’s solution will enable network resource management, driven from traditional service order flows and on-demand customer service requests.

IBM and Cramer will conduct tests at the IBM Telecommunications Solutions Laboratory in Austin, Texas. When commercially available, the platform will meet the demand for a comprehensive COTS OSS solution that can scale to support the massive business transaction-processing requirements of Tier 1 operators.

Cramer President and CEO Guy Dubois said, “Cramer and IBM share a vision for the Triple Play marketplace – to accelerate next-generation transformation by enabling real-time service fulfillment from the order to the network. The Service Delivery Platform for Triple Play will make this a reality for the first time.”

IBM SDP for Triple Play–A Pre-Integrated Platform
The IBM SDP for Triple Play fills an important gap in the OSS marketplace. Typical data management OSS solutions lack the range of functionality required to support Triple Play, and many newer vendors do not have the proven scalability to handle the business transaction-processing needs of global Tier 1 operators. Overlap between vendors makes it difficult for operators to select the right products needed to architect a solution. The IBM SDP eliminates the guesswork and risk of vendor integration, providing a single pre-integrated platform that lets operators accelerate their Triple Play initiatives efficiently and inexpensively.
