ConneXon Launches Solution to Help PSAPs Respond to VoIP Challenges

Posted on June 6, 2007 Written by oss

ConneXon Telecom, the parent company of nationally recognized 911 provider, 911 Enable, has launched its NG-Connect solution to help Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) respond to the challenges of VoIP.

NG-Connnect is implemented at the PSAP as part of a Pilot program and allows PSAPs to efficiently manage the growing volume of VoIP subscribers while retaining their current operational functionality. Service components are vendor agnostic and integrate with existing PSAP Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).

“By working with ConneXon, PSAPs can turn the challenges of VoIP into benefits,” said Lev Deich, Director of ConneXon. “VoIP technology can be efficiently accommodated at the PSAP today and we can work together to take advantage of new technologies into the future.”

As part of NG-Connect, ConneXon provides PSAPs with support in the following mission critical areas:

· VoIP Revenue Remittance
· Access Security/QoS
· Intelligent Routing

The most important aspect of the NG-Connect solution is VoIP Revenue Remittance. Each month, ConneXon remits revenues to the PSAP based on the amount of VoIP subscribers within the PSAP’s geographic boundaries. ConneXon’s Pilot program can be implemented today and will immediately help PSAPs respond to the challenges of VoIP.

ConneXon will be showcasing its NG-Connect solution at the upcoming 26th Annual NENA 9-1-1 Conference & Trade Show at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, June 11 -12, booth #322.
