AsiaInfo Launches Cloud Core Carrier Grade BSS

Posted on February 11, 2016 Written by oss

AsiaInfo, the global BSS transformation specialist and China’s largest telecommunications IT software and services company, recently announced Veris Cloud Core – a complete cloud-based version of its award-winning Veris BSS software suite.

This is the first time a full suite of carrier-grade billing and customer relationship management services has been deployed in a public cloud environment for mission critical telco operations.

A new partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) will enable access to the full Veris Suite for operators looking to accelerate business transformation projects and transition to a modern Business Support System much more quickly.

Announcing the ground-breaking initiative, AsiaInfo’s CTO Yadong Jin said: “Veris Cloud Core is the fast-track to operator business transformation. Until today, service providers seeking to transform their Billing and CRM systems for their core operations were typically looking at a two-year project. Today, we are leading the market with a service that enables operators to begin reaping the benefits of a new system within just a few months.”

Two factors significantly speed up the deployment using Veris Cloud Core. Firstly, the Veris suite is pre-integrated and highly configurable, considerably reducing the time needed to commission the system and adapt it to local market requirements.

Secondly, deployment on AWS’s public cloud makes the system almost immediately ready to use, avoiding the need for a lengthy infrastructure procurement and software installation project. A SaaS based pricing model also reduces the capital costs of business transformation and makes Veris Cloud Core an attractive option for operators struggling with the high operational cost of legacy BSS.

“Veris Cloud Core changes the economics of IT transformation for telecoms operators,” said Mr Jin. “They can begin migrating customers off the legacy environment on a pay-as-you-grow basis, instead of contemplating a long project and a risky big bang migration.”

Although operators have previously used cloud-based BSS as an overlay or add-on to support new digital services, this is the first time a carrier grade BSS with the sophistication and scalability to manage the core business of a full-service telecoms operator has been made available as a pre-integrated cloud based solution via a secure private link to a public cloud resource.

AsiaInfo has entered into a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services to create world-class Industrial Internet Platforms to help telecommunications and other industries drive more efficient operations and management by transforming their IT environments in the cloud. Veris Cloud Core is one of the first fruits of this collaboration.

The new solution will be demonstrated live at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, 22-25 February 2016.
