Today at CTIA, Aepona, a leading provider of Service Network products and solutions, announced third party management and configuration enhancements to its Telecom Web Services platform. These new features empower service providers to overcome existing barriers to adding new services by reducing costs through automation and structured process management. This enables service providers to fully exploit and monetize their network assets, by expanding the pool of third-party application developers from tens or hundreds to many thousands.
Aepona’s Telecom Web Services platform allows secure exposure of telecom network resources, such as call control, location and messaging, to enterprises and third–party application developers. It supports dynamic service bundles for content providers through rapid service enrolment, multi-channel service delivery and aggregated billing.
The new third party management and configuration features provide a web services-based mechanism to provision new customers. Now, using the Telecom Web Services platform, service providers can grant developers various degrees of privilege. This provides a high degree of flexible configuration; not just of different classes of users – but of the operation of the platform and the services on offer. This provides differentiated services by modifying SLAs, access policies and execution profiles.
Aepona’s Telecom Web Services solution is built on the company’s Universal Service Platform, and helps to accelerate the adoption of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) into the telecoms domain. Telecom Web Services provide the ideal building blocks for a powerful, scalable service delivery framework.
“As operators move towards a next-generation Service Delivery Platform that allows them to cost-effectively service a much higher number of application and content providers than first-generation SDPs, they will need to incorporate the concept of a standards-based architecture that opens their network,†said Kieran Dalton, Aepona’s Chief Technical Officer. “Our Telecom Web Services Platform now makes it easier for service providers to increase ARPU by using third parties to rapidly expand the services and applications offered to subscribers.â€
