providers, today announced that XO Communications, Inc. has completed a
very comprehensive OSS data migration. XO Communications is a national
provider of telecommunications services to businesses, larger
enterprises and carriers in more than 70 markets across the U.S.
This deployment has successfully combined XO�s customer, network, and
service data with the corresponding data from the company�s acquisition
of Allegiance Telecom, marking another major milestone in the
integration of the two companies. The process included migrating over 1
million Allegiance circuits, 200,000 locations, and 5 million pieces of
equipment into the existing XO implementation of MetaSolv inventory.
Merging the large, complex data stores of the two service providers will
enable XO to improve and streamline its overall operations processes. XO
chose MetaSolv to provide the data migration services due to MetaSolv�s
extensive history of successful migrations, as well as MetaSolv�s
comprehensive and intimate knowledge of XO�s OSS and its deployment of
MetaSolv. Prior to the merger both XO and Allegiance were live with
MetaSolv�s advanced inventory and order management solutions.
This thorough process has enabled XO to achieve a complete, consolidated
database of record, resulting in a single entry point for all types of
data, with automated flow-through to other systems. XO�s large database
is fully synchronized with the data from other corporate sources,
helping ensure data integrity across the organization. In addition,
MetaSolv�s expertise in data migrations means that this integration is
flexible and scalable, making upgrades and additional modifications to
existing applications faster, easier, and more efficient.
