Vodafone Iceland Selects FTS Business Control and Billing Solutions

5:12 pm   -   June 5th, 2007

FTS (LSE: FTS), a global provider of Business Control, Billing and CRM solutions for communications service providers, has recently announced that Icelandic operator Og Fjarskipti, trading under the Vodafone brand, will overhaul its billing system using FTS” Leapâ„¢ Billing and Leapâ„¢ Business Control Engine (Leap BCE) solutions, enabling next generation services with real time customer interaction.

Vodafone Iceland is a multi-play service provider, offering mobile, fixed, internet and data services. The company will use FTS” solutions as the platform to support all current and future charging, billing and real-time customer interaction needs as part of a renewal of its entire BSS environment under a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) paradigm. In addition, FTS will be responsible for overall project migration.

The Leap solutions are based on Business Control Layer technology, which is a software layer residing alongside the network/OSS and BSS system. Using Business Control Layer, Leap solutions allow operators to communicate with their customers in real-time, enabling new revenue opportunities and enhanced customer experience thus addressing the two key issues troubling operators today: revenue growth and retention.

“The solution from FTS is one of the most flexible, robust and cost effective solutions available in the market,” said Gestur G. Gestsson, CTO, Vodafone Iceland. “We are impressed by FTS” ability to integrate its billing and business control solutions within SOA architecture. I believe this solution best meets our business and technical expectations.”

“This vote of confidence by a leading provider like Vodafone Iceland clearly signals to the market FTS” technological superiority,” said Norman Tutnauer, FTS’ Vice President of Worldwide Sales. “Our Leap solutions address all the needs of converged communication service providers such as Vodafone Iceland, and support them as they continue to introduce advanced, next-generation services.”

FTS was recently voted the “Most Promising Company” at the prestigious 2007 TeleStrategies Billing and OSS World industry event. The award was presented to FTS as it was felt the company will have the biggest impact on the sector in the coming year.
