4:16 pm   -   October 29th, 2008

Operations across VimpelCom group will permit Integration with NetCracker’s solution

NetCracker was selected by Open Joint Stock Company VimpelCom Group as its strategic OSS supplier. The cooperation between NetCracker and VimpelCom is a continuation of the successful partnership originally established between NetCracker and Golden Telecom.

In February 2008, VimpelCom merged with Golden Telecom, a leading facilities-based provider of integrated telecommunications and internet services in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. VimpelCom Group has selected NetCracker as the OSS supplier for the unified IT architecture that will integrate VimpelCom and Golden Telecom’s operations.

NetCracker’s complex solution has already been deployed at Golden Telecom, where it provides up-to-date information about Golden’s network infrastructure. NetCracker’s solution has enabled Golden Telecom to consolidate its physical and logical network resources as well as its service data. Additionally, NetCracker’s OSS solution has improved network troubleshooting and capacity management.

VimpelCom Group chose NetCracker after an extensive evaluation process that focused on software architecture, product functionality, and performance metrics, as well as NetCracker’s ability to support VimpelCom Group’s unique requirements.

“Our strategic objective in working with NetCracker is to bring unparalleled quality to VimpelCom Group’s end-to-end service delivery capability,” said Alexey Goryachkin, Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer at Golden Telecom, VimpelCom Group. “A unified architecture will enable VimpelCom Group to optimize processes, achieve rapid service delivery, reduce operational costs, and provide greater customer satisfaction across all our operations.”

“We are delighted to extend the benefits of our Golden Telecom solution throughout VimpelCom Group,” said Andrew Feinberg, President and CEO of NetCracker Technology. “NetCracker’s powerful, comprehensive solution, and its experienced professional services teams will allow VimpelCom Group to achieve rapid service delivery and increased operational efficiency.”
