Traffix Introduces Next Generation AAA Gateway bridging Legacy and IMS Networks
Traffix Systems, the pioneering Next Generation Building Blocks company has recently launched its Next Generation (NG) AAA Translation Gateway to support vendors and operators in the migration to IMS and rollout of true Fixed Mobile Convergence.
With Network operators embarking on the long migration path to IMS, their advanced new Next Generation Networks co-exist with their operational legacy - non IMS networks.
Traffix AAA Gateway enables network operators to enjoy IMS functionalities in operational non IMS networks and to bridge new IMS networks with existing functionality in their legacy networks.
The AAA Gateway interconnects different AAA protocols like RADIUS and Diameter and enables systems supporting different AAA protocols to communicate and integrate together.
The AAA Gateway can be used by either network operators or equipment vendors to enable different IMS functionalities to benefit from existing legacy systems (e.g. HLR, charging, rating and service assurance) or to enable services and applications deployed in operational legacy network environment to benefit from the new IMS functionalities.
The AAA Gateway enables smoother migration to IMS in a moderate and cost effective manner while using some of the existing functionality embedded and thoroughly tested - creating a unified network instead of duplicating functionality and information.
Traffix AAA Gateway can assist vendors who lack IMS AAA functionality (e.g. Diameter) and want to deploy or migrate installed solutions to IMS based networks where Diameter is used as the AAA protocol of choice, Adding the AAA Gateway to their solution enables vendors to bridge this gap and to offer advanced IMS AAA Diameter based functionality.
“Traffix’s announcement today emphasizes Traffix technological leadership in the IMS AAA field, Traffix is the first company to supply all AAA and Diameter needs optimized to telco’s IMS requirements, we are committed to continue supplying innovative products to our customers and partners ” said Ben Volkow Traffix’s VP Product Management.
