TM Forum Survey Indicates Reason for Lower Revenue Assurance Maturity

5:07 pm   -   June 23rd, 2009

cVidya Networks, a leading provider of Revenue Assurance and Dealer Management solutions, announced today the findings of a recently released Revenue Assurance Maturity Survey conducted by the TM Forum.

The survey included 33 participants representing 26 countries with a subscriber base ranging from less than 500K to more than 10M.

The survey focused on five dimensions: organization, people, influence, tools and process and yields valuable insights into current Revenue Assurance maturity of operators. Participating operators include wireline, mobile, ISPs and Cable.

“The detailed Revenue Assurance maturity model of the TM Forum provides excellent guidance to every operator looking to improve its RA capabilities”, said Alexander Nelles, Head of Group Customer Relations, Contracts & System Assurance at Vodafone Germany, one of the participating operators in the survey.” Successful RA strategy should have a wide organizational coverage and the TM Forum maturity model enables us to analyze all organizational aspects. The ability to compare our status to the industry average as appears in the survey helps us in defining our RA investment in the future.”

One of the survey’s major findings is that in all regions, the ‘Tools’ dimension lagged behind all others. Further results show that, in all the aspects, Mobile operators are the most mature, while Wireline operators are the least. It appears that the rapid introduction of new services and standards, in mobile operators, is an important cause and driver for investment in Revenue Assurance. Regional breakdown shows that Europe is the most mature region

“The ability to evaluate Revenue assurance maturity level is an essential prerequisite to optimal investments in additional Revenue Assurance capability,” says Dr. Gadi Solotorevsky, cVidya’s chief scientist and leader of the Revenue Assurance team within the TM forum. “Once providers determine their own position in the model, they are to use the roadmap included in the model to identify the next steps for improvement. The findings of the survey provide clear proof of the growing traction of Revenue Assurance in general and corresponding TM Forum standards”, summarized Dr. Solotorevsky.

Indeed, the survey reveals strong adoption of the TM Forum Maturity Model, especially in Europe and LATAM, However, in North America, it is still low. In terms of methodology, we see strong adoption in Wireline and Mobile operators and weaker adoption across ISPs and Cable operators.
