Tango Telecom iAX Anti-Spam deployed by leading Indonesian operator Indosat

6:08 am   -   June 19th, 2007

Tango Telecom, a leading provider of intelligent messaging and real-time convergent charging software, has recently announced that leading Indonesian operator, Indosat, has implemented its leading edge SMS anti-threat solution, iAX Anti-Spam.

Speaking today at CommunicAsia 2007 in Singapore , Richard Choi , VP of Sales and Marketing at Tango Telecom explained that iAX Anti-Spam gives Indosat important benefits including network, revenue and brand protection and a reduction in subscriber dissatisfaction and churn caused by unsolicited text messages on their mobile devices.

“SMS Spam is more than just an annoyance, it can also incur charges for both the operator and the subscriber and research has shown that subscribers often see their operator as the source of the spam and switch carriers as a result.” stated Choi. “iAX Anti-Spam is designed not only to detect SMS spam sent from local or foreign networks but also to provide protection against deliberate attempts to bring down an operator’s network using malware or viruses. This highly configurable solution will ensure the operator’s compliance with current and future regulatory mandates.”

Tango Telecom’s iAX Anti-Spam is a comprehensive and cost-effective anti-threat solution enabling operators to protect their network and their subscribers from fraud, spam and malware threats. This anti-spam solution defends against a wide variety of abuses, including denial-of-service attacks, flooding and offensive content offering operators a solution to protect their subscribers from inappropriate, harmful and unsolicited content. By implementing a class leading anti-threat solution such as iAX Anti-Spam, operators will see an increase in messaging revenues and a reduction in costs both to themselves and to their subscribers.

“Indosat decided to proactively and aggressively counter the effects of spam and malware to its network and to its subscribers. We needed a solution that would protect our network from SMS fraud and abuse and our subscribers from SMS Spam. Having previously partnered with Tango Telecom and their local partner Lintas Teknologi in the very successful deployment of their SMS delivery platform (iAX SMS), we were confident that their anti-threat solution would not only meet but exceed our requirements.” stated Raymond Tan, Network Director, Indosat.

Tango Telecom will be exhibiting at Stand 2J3-01 at CommunicAsia 2007 in Singapore from June 19th to 22nd in Singapore and will be to provide more information about their anti-spam solution, this recent contract win and other successful implementations of their iAX product suite.
