Syndesis Launches Converged Fulfillment Workflow and Order Management Solution with ConceptWave Software

8:35 pm   -   June 6th, 2006

Syndesis has unveiled enhancements to its industry-leading Convergent Service Delivery Management (CSDM) solution suite with the launch of Syndesis® Controller™, a modular fulfillment workflow and order management solution. Syndesis Controller accelerates order-to-cash lifecycles, improves measurable operational efficiencies and enables an interactive and flexible environment critical for the delivery of converged services. It is built on technology from ConceptWave, a widely deployed global leader in order management solutions.

“In emerging telecom markets, a good OSS basically delivers two things: 1) accurate and rapid provisioning of next-generation services, and 2) efficient back office automation to keep the operation lean,” said Dan Baker, OSS/BSS Research Director for Dittberner Associates Inc. “This solution addresses both sides of the OSS value chain: Syndesis brings a talent for managing complex Triple Play services and ConceptWave supplies expert workflow efficiencies.”

Syndesis Controller is a fully integrated and highly configurable application that incorporates technical workflow around service delivery, order decomposition and a service catalog to enable the rapid introduction of new service types. Syndesis Controller’s workflow templates and processes are built on ConceptWave’s industry-leading technology leveraging Syndesis’ 20-year domain expertise in the best practices for service delivery.

The solution uses Syndesis’ extensive library of pre-built service components to permit the rapid, simplified assembly of new service definitions that are tightly coupled to actual resources and network capabilities. Syndesis is the technology leader in provisioning content-based services such as IPTV and Syndesis Controller enables a service provider to rapidly define such services that involve both connectivity and applications. Syndesis Controller provides a service catalog that enables newly assembled service types to be exposed to business processes and systems for offering to end-customers, cutting by months or even years the time traditionally needed to bring new services to market.

The workflow components and order decomposition capabilities of Syndesis Controller provide the basis for automation of the entire order-to-bill cycle for high-margin converged services. Syndesis Controller integrates Syndesis’ industry-leading service provisioning solutions into the broader fulfillment cycle, incorporating manual steps such as infrastructure build-out with flow-through provisioning into a cohesive, repeatable process. With Syndesis Controller, service providers will be able to dramatically cut fulfillment cycle times to increase order volumes, enabling such innovations as customer self-service.

“The services in demand today are increasingly complex and ConceptWave excels in automating and simplifying order handling and process flow,” said Chun-Ling Woon, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at ConceptWave. “This joint, customized and pre-integrated solution will enable CSPs to achieve cost-effective fulfillment operations and swiftly launch new services.”

“In order to remain competitive, communications service providers around the world need to ensure the fastest time-to-market for new services,” said Mark Fowlie, Chief Marketing Officer for Syndesis. “Syndesis Controller extends Syndesis’ automated service delivery suite beyond the provisioning and activation domain, including manual processes, to include a complete solution for order management. Our customers will benefit from this complete platform, which enables rapid and automated service introduction across the entire OSS stack.”
