8:16 am   -   July 21st, 2008

Sicap assisted Swisscom prepare the 3G i-Phone for last week’s launch. Its Intelligent Network-based billing platform being set up for real-time rating to back up the Swiss operator’s prepaid services.

Long-term supplier of billing solutions in the Swisscom network, Sicap responded to the marketing demands of Swisscom by implementing innovative packages for i-Phone services on the operator billing platform. Used in the Swisscom network since 1996, Sicap’s billing platform has evolved in line with network evolution and today supports real time Diameter-based data rating in an all-IP network environment.

The Sicap rating solution has assisted the Swisscom packaging of the 3G i-Phone. Customers are offered a choice of subscription types, ranging from subscription-free service rates for pre-paid users to high volume data transfer offers for avid mobile web surfers, likely to be seduced by the synching capabilities and the embedded GPS navigation tool in the device.

Markus Doetsch, Head of Product IT and Product Development at Swisscom, explains that “it is important to accompany the i-Phone offer with a service offer which reflects Swisscom’s attention to customer care and which covers all patterns of data usage. The flexibility of Sicap’s billing platform has allowed us to roll out attractive packages for pre-paid customers, all within a reduced time-frame.”

Grégory Grin, Chief operating Officer of Sicap concluded that “the rating and billing solution designed for the Swisscom i-Phone launch is proof of our continued commitment to supporting our customers in their marketing strategy. Sicap solutions are technology-driven, helping operators like Swisscom get to market ahead of their competitors.”
