SunTec’s business rule-based TBMS-T solution helps Bakrie Telecom set new MURI record
SunTec, the leading provider of Relationship-based Pricing and centralized billing solutions, has announced that its Indonesia-based client Bakrie Telecom has set a new Museum Rekor Dunia Indonesia (MURI) record in being the first-ever operator in the country to offer a revolutionary tariff scheme for SMS. The leading telecom service provider of Indonesia used SunTec’s real-time transaction pricing solution TBMS-T to introduce the innovative ‘SMS Satu Rupiah (Rp 1) per character’ plan – SMS charging based on the length of the message or the number of text characters — for its ‘Esia’ CDMA post-paid customers. The sales promotional efforts of Bakrie Telecom’s new service offering have won accolades from MURI, which is Indonesia’s most recognized certification for record achievement.
The telecom major implemented TBMS-T as part of their plans to expand CDMA services under the Esia brand name. Using business rule-based TBMS-T, Bakrie could offer dynamic charges and pricing plans for their services or bundles of services to specific segments of customers, based on their usage patterns.
“TBMS-T has helped us in every way to strengthen our positioning as an innovative operator. We have discovered that the SunTec TBMS-T billing solution has enabled us to roll out innovative pricing schemes in the market, which in turn, has helped us to expand our business and to offer the latest technology to our customers. The MURI record testifies our accomplishments in this area, and we consider this as an acknowledgment from our customers for our efforts,” said Mr. Muhammad Buldansyah, Deputy President Director PT Bakrie Telecom Tbk.
The deployment of SunTec’s TBMS-T has enabled Bakrie Telecom to come up with fresh and effective marketing campaigns, based on their customer-centric pricing plans. The award-winning SMS charging scheme was one such novel promotional feature, wherein Bakrie affixed either a fixed charge on each SMS or a dynamic charge based on the text length or the number of characters in the message, according to the tariff plan chosen by the customer.
Bakrie Telecom has pioneered in reducing Indonesia telephone tariff. They have succeeded to initiate affordable handset bundling as well. Now they have come up with revolutionary sms tariff scheme so that customers pay only for what they use. The entire breakthrough has boosted their subscribers significantly, average more than 100% a year.
K Nanda Kumar, CEO, SunTec said: “We are excited to know that our product has enabled our client Bakrie Telecom to roll out dynamic pricing schemes for their services and win a nation-wide recognition for innovation in their offerings. We have always been upbeat about the myriad capabilities of our product, but learning that our clients are putting its functionalities to the maximum use in their business makes us beam with pride.”
