Strategic partnership to demo end-to-end IPTV and HDTV solutions

5:22 pm   -   October 21st, 2007

Streaming21, the world’s leader in broadcast-quality streaming solutions, together with its set-top box partner, XAVi Technologies, a member of Chicony Electronics Business Group (2365 TT), will showcase their fully integrated IPTV and HDTV solutions at IP Comm Asia 2007 in Taipei, Taiwan, October 23-25. Visitors will experience exciting live demos of end-to-end IPTV solutions with amazing high-definition video quality and theater-like display.

“We believe 2008 will be a strong year for HDTV growth due to the 2008 Beijing Olympics. As fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) infrastructure becomes more mature in Asia and HD content begins to proliferate, HDTV will be the killer application for telcos to boost revenues and strengthen their competitive position over MSOs. We are glad to work with companies like Streaming21 to promote the HDTV over IPTV market,” said Wenston Lee, President of XAVi Technologies.

High-definition television (HDTV) for IPTV is the spotlight of the exhibition. Streaming21 and XAVi have worked closely to develop a fully integrated H.264 solution, in the process capturing many milestone IPTV projects in Japan. The revolutionary H.264 feature enables perfect delivery of MPEG-4 compressed video at much lower bit rates, compared to the MPEG-2 standard. By cutting in half the bandwidth required to deliver broadcast-quality video streams for VOD (video on demand) and HDTV (high-definition television), this groundbreaking technology offers significant advancements in video compression and coding efficiency, making it much more cost effective to deliver optimal video quality over IP networks. The new enhancements support both SD (Standard Definition) and HD (High Definition).

Experience the revolutionary HDTV and IPTV showcase at IPTV Zone, booth B402 (XAVi) in Hall 1 of the Taiwan World Trade Center on October 23~25.
