Sigma Systems Presentation on Advanced Advertising and Advanced IP Service Fulfillment at SCTE Cable-Tec 2008

2:49 pm   -   June 20th, 2008

Sigma Systems, a recognized industry leader, has been enlisted by the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) to speak on leveraging subscriber data for advanced advertising at the upcoming SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Philadelphia.

What:

Cable operators are now looking at offering advanced advertising in order to substantially increase their advertising revenues, and to protect their advertising market share against erosion from Internet advertising and IPTV competitors.

In order to compete more effectively against Internet advertising, cable operators must upgrade their advertising platforms and subscriber-analytics capabilities in order to provide more Internet-like advertising qualities.

Brian Cappellani, CTO for Sigma Systems, will present a technical paper titled “Unlocking the Value of Your Subscriber Data for Advanced Advertising.”

Workshop attendees will learn:

*** the various sources of subscriber information of value to advanced advertising;

*** the challenges and requirements for collecting, aggregating and correlating this subscriber information;

*** how subscriber-targeting profiles can be used to support various advanced advertising delivery models for linear and non-linear television viewing; and,

*** the role of SCTE 130 and “Subscriber Information System” for supporting and automating the advanced advertising processes; including determination of audience qualifiers for use by third parties that want to advertise their products and services to a cable operator’s subscriber base.

Who:

As CTO for Sigma Systems, Brian Cappellani is responsible for the architectural and technology vision and deliverables for Sigma’s award-winning Service Management Platform and Solutions Suites. He is a 12-year telecommunications veteran with an extensive background in designing, architecting, and building large-scale operations and billing support systems. Previously, Brian worked for Accenture holding senior-level architecture, engineering and development management positions both internally and with Accenture’s telecommunications practice (wireless, satellite). Mr. Cappellani is an active contributor to the SCTE 130 specification pertaining to advanced advertising and also an Advisory Director to the TM Forum’s Board of Directors.

When:

Thursday, June 26 at 11:00am

Friday, June 27 at 1:30pm

Where:

SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2008

Other Conference Initiatives: Product Demonstrations

At booth 1101, Sigma will highlight its global leadership in enabling advanced IP services such as high-speed data, video, voice, premium content and multimedia. Sigma is also pioneering the evolution to “applications enablement”, making it possible for service providers to rapidly deploy new applications and further distinguish themselves from the competition by offering a unique, personalized user experience. Sigma currently manages more than 50 deployments for CSPs with a combined total of approximately 100 million IP services deployed worldwide. Product demonstrations will include:

*** Sigma’s Residential Triple-Play Solution, which enables the delivery of voice, video, high-speed data and ISP services. CSPs can rapidly introduce and deliver incremental messaging, premium content and entertainment services on top of defined triple-play bundles with Sigma’s complete, end-to-end solution.

*** Sigma’s Hosted Commercial Voice Solution, which automates the complex IP service fulfillment functions required to deliver voice services with a full set of calling features, including call display, call forwarding, call answer and hunt groups, as well as innovative IP-based communication features such as find me/follow me and unified messaging. As well, it provides a web portal for SMB customers to manage their phone service remotely. The solution also supports LNP for multiple telephone number ordering and complex directory listings needed by businesses to preserve the investment in their phone numbers.

*** Sigma’s Mobile Solution, which enables the service creation, service bundling and fulfillment process capabilities to deliver multiple services in a multi-technology mobile network domain. With Sigma, CSPs can automate the delivery of services such as voice telephony and voice features, push-to-talk, IM/SMS/MMS, premium content and broadband Internet capabilities with the push of a button.

*** Sigma’s Advanced Advertising Solution, which is aligned with SCTE 130 and Tru2Way standards, and demonstrates how subscriber data can be captured, correlated, analyzed and subsequently leveraged to drive advanced advertising campaign decisions.

SCTE’s Cable-Tec Expo 2008 takes place June 24-27 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
