OSS Visibility Index for June 2008

OSS News Review has released our OSS Visibility Index ratings for the month of June 2008. The OSS Visibility Index is a list of the most visible companies and products and services in the telecom OSS/BSS industry.

The OSS Visibility Index is published on a monthly basis and comes in two parts. The first part of the OSS Visibility Index consists of the rankings of the companies that were most visible online during the reporting period. The second part of the OSS Visibility Index consists of the rankings of the OSS products and services that were most popular during the reporting period. This second installment of the OSS Visibility Index includes data compiled during June, 2008.

For the month of June 2008, Metasolv, Amdocs, and Comptel remained at the top of the list of the most visible companies in the industry (versus May 2008, these three companies were also at the top). Azure Solutions made a very large jump in the index and jumped 8 spots to 4th on the list for June 2008. Openet lost rankings over the previous month, as they dropped to 14th place (Openet was previously 7th during May 2008).

The company OSS Visibility Index focuses specifically on the companies in the OSS industry. Rankings are based on many factors. Data is compiled on a regular basis from several online sources, including OSS News Review internal data, as well as other factors that OSS News Review monitors throughout the month.

Billing and revenue assurance continue to be popular, and mobile made it into the top three during June 2008. Mediation made a large jump from number 17 during May 2008 to 7th in June 2008. OSS/J and top-up billing are newcomers to the list during June 2008, show up at 9th and 19th respectively

While the industry product and service OSS Visibility Index focuses on products and services provided by OSS companies, OSS News Review found it helpful to include data that does not necessarily describe an OSS industry specific product or service
