OSS Observer Says HP is Market Leader in Telecom Service Management
HP (NYSE:HPQ) (Nasdaq:HPQ) has been named the overall market leader in telecom service management by OSS Observer in a recent in-depth report. OSS Observer is a leading telecom analyst firm and is based in Illinois.
OSS Observer cited HP Software products as well as HP’s strengths in business consulting, service modeling, active service-level agreement (SLA) management, SLA reporting, active probe testing, availability status and problem resolution metrics in the report. Evaluating all the major vendors and their importance in the fast-growing, worldwide operations support systems (OSS) market, including mobile, broadband and business services segments, the in-depth report by OSS Observer looked at the current business environment, market drivers, relative market shares and market forecasts.
“HP is the early market leader, leveraging its strong position of HP TeMIP Software deployments in EMEA, Asia and Central/Latin America,†said Patrick Kelly, partner and co-founder, OSS Observer. “The complexity associated with service management projects puts HP in a stronger position over their competitors that depend on system integrators.â€
Avantel, a leading provider of voice and data services in Mexico, has successfully implemented an HP service management solution for its converged, IP-based network.
“Avantel’s success has been directly linked to our capacity to deliver a superior customer experience,†said Oscar Rodriguez, director general, Avantel. “Service management is a key ingredient in that success, and HP has made important contributions. The industry recognition of HP leadership affirms our confidence in the company.â€
At Avantel, HP service management solutions such as HP Service Quality Manager Software and HP TeMIP Software automate network and service management in real time and assure Avantel that critical services are being delivered to customers in accordance with contracted SLAs.
“HP has been in this business for a long time, but we’re always gratified when industry experts like OSS Observer recognize the work we do for our customers,†said Michele Campriani, director, OSS Solutions, Communications, Media and Entertainment, HP.
HP Software products are used by more than 400 service providers worldwide. The flagship OSS product, HP TeMIP Software, is deployed with 220 customers and supports recent key industry standards such as NGOSS, OSS through Java (OSS-J), Multi-Technology Network Management and 3GPP.
The HP OSS Software Portfolio products are part of the HP Integrated Service Management blueprint, which integrates OSS and BSS (business support systems), providing carriers and operators with the comprehensive, highly adaptive, service-oriented approach needed to effectively manage networks and services, improve mediation and billing, and assure quality of service for customers.
