Orga Systems Powers Real-Time Data Charging at Kazakhstan’s Largest Mobile Operator

7:45 am   -   March 27th, 2007

Kazakhstan’s largest mobile operator, GSM Kazakhstan (Kcell) selects Orga Systems’ Media Control Point (MCP™) for high-performance real-time data charging. The MCP™ allows Kcell a fast and standardized integration between all their IP network elements, application servers and business support systems.

Real-time data charging enables communications service providers to roll-out new data applications while at the same time securing existing revenue sources. Orga Systems‘ MCP™ is designed to meet these challenges and to provide real-time access control and enhanced charging capabilities for today’s as well as emerging 3G/IMS services.

The carrier-class solution is a DIAMETER-based real-time charging and mediation platform for both messaging (SMS/MMS) and IP (GPRS/EDGE) data sessions, enabling instant authorization and credit control to protect against revenue leakage.

Using the solution, Kcell will be able to introduce increased flexibility and versatility into the revenue management of IP/data services and always-on sessions. Including the ability to offer a converged approach to data charging that combines prepaid (online) and postpaid (offline) charging scenarios. In this context the MCPâ„¢ can provide convergent charging functions for advanced IMS services and SIP-based multimedia sessions. Therefore the MCPâ„¢ can be deployed in accordance with the latest 3GPP reference architectures which standardize charging requirements for the IP Multimedia Subsystem.

Kcell’s decision to implement Orga Systems’ MCP™ has strengthened the long-standing relationship between the two companies. Kcell has been using Orga Systems’ real-time charging and billing products since 2001.
