Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management Implemented by Fox Mobile Distribution

11:51 am   -   February 19th, 2009

Platform to Help Leading Mobile Content Provider to Deliver Compelling New Services by Maximizing Operational Efficiency and Flexibility

Fox Mobile Distribution, one of the world’s leading providers of mobile entertainment and part of Fox Mobile Group, has implemented Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management to increase billing flexibility as it rolls out new services, as well as improve operational efficiency and enable continued growth.

After an extensive evaluation process, Fox Mobile Distribution selected Oracle due to its real-time capability, out-of-the-box functionality and ability to rapidly support its business requirements. Fox Mobile Distribution worked with Oracle to complete the implementation in five months.

Wholly owned by News Corporation, Fox Mobile Distribution is capable of reaching more than one billion consumers around the globe with a wide offering of mobile products and services, such as games, video and made-for-mobile content. Fox Mobile Distribution delivers content in 38 countries on six continents and in more than 20 languages. Oracle’s scalable, convergent billing and revenue management application helps Fox Mobile Distribution support continued growth by adapting to diverse market demands, identifying areas for revenue growth and accelerating time-to-market for new products and offerings.

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management enables Fox Mobile Distribution to create simplified billing plans – incorporating various payment options, product and service bundles and customer types. The real-time nature of the Oracle platform also helps Fox Mobile Distribution maximize revenue and minimize loss associated with fraud and revenue leakage – capabilities that are fundamental in driving improved margins and delivering higher quality services to customers. Fox Mobile Distribution also benefits from improved rating. The provider has significantly reduced rating runtimes for all transactions and reduced errors by removing nearly all manual intervention in the rating process.

“Our previous billing system was not flexible and required much customization, which translated into higher costs. Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management has helped us lower operational costs and more quickly roll out new, personalized services. As we continue to grow, we have the opportunity to leverage other components of Oracle’s end-to-end application suite to further improve our billing and revenue management processes,” said Markus Peuler, managing director and senior vice president, finance and administration, Fox Mobile Distribution.

“As the mobile content industry grows, Fox Mobile Distribution’s implementation of Oracle for billing and revenue management is yet another example of our market success worldwide to support creative, next-generation content services. Fox Mobile Distribution is already realizing the value of its investment in Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management,” said Gordon Rawling, solution specialist director, Oracle Communications.
