Operax

Operax, the leading vendor of dynamic Resource and Admission Control solutions for IP Service Quality, has signed a North American partnership agreement with Velankani Communications Technologies – a leading provider of systems integration, system engineering, and turnkey product realization services to telecommunications operators. With this agreement Velankani will now include, integrate and support Operax’ award winning Resource Controller products in its portfolio of telecommunications technologies for carriers. This will help carriers rapidly deploy, protect and guarantee quality and revenues for advanced and innovative services such as IPTV, Video on Demand and Internet TV.

This announcement highlights the strength of Operax’s proposition in North America . Carriers are looking to secure a return on their investments in next-generation all-IP networks and the ability to provide cost-effective QoS is essential to this as it provides a platform on which carriers can differentiate new revenue-generating services. Operax standards-based Resource and Admission Control products enable end-to-end, per session QoS guarantees for IPTV services in IP networks.

Patrick Kelly, General Manager Americas for Operax, stated: “Velankani has a long history of successful commercial deployments in the North American telecoms vertical and understands the need for real-time service quality and overall QoS Control in next-generation networks. Together we have the expertise to fulfill that need and provide carriers with the solutions they need to make their services a success.”

Velankani Chief Executive Officer, Raj Singh commented, “We are excited about the relationship with Operax. Network Convergence, Mobility, and interactive Multimedia communications requires reliable network resource management – this is a real issue for North American Operators. ‘Best effort’ traffic is no longer acceptable to the consumer; guaranteed 24×7 service quality is a must. Operax has been a leader in this space for sometime and we want to address this growing market opportunity.”
