NetCracker Automates TELUS Service Fulfillment
TELUS has successfully implemented NetCracker’s Service and Network Inventory and Provisioning solutions for converged services, including IPTV and other next-generation customer services.
“To enable the rapid launch of converged services like TELUS TV we needed next generation operational support systems (OSS) that can keep up with the rapidly-evolving landscape,” said Kevin Salvadori, Executive Vice-president, TELUS Business Transformation and CIO.
TELUS, an $8.8 billion Canadian telecommunications carrier, provides a wide range of communications products and services including data, Internet protocol (IP), voice, entertainment, and video.
Transforming the Service Layer for TELUS
In 2005, TELUS began a significant business transformation initiative to streamline its OSS to facilitate the introduction of new technologies. This continued initiative is focused on deploying the next generation of converged infrastructure to re-engineer and automate TELUS’ service fulfillment processes for voice and data products.
TELUS selected NetCracker to build the foundation for this automation and transform the order-to-activate cycle. As a result of NetCracker’s deployment, mass market (residential) customer orders for Triple Play-including broadband access, IPTV, and voice services-are now supported in the next-generation system.
TELUS has also successfully deployed NetCracker software for its enterprise customers, supporting advanced services such as Layer 2 and Layer 3 Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) with MultiProtocol Label Switching (MPLS). In both consumer and business implementations, NetCracker’s solution for TELUS focused on creating a flexible and scaleable service layer that can act as the foundation for the delivery of new services to its business and residential customers.
NetCracker product modules deployed at TELUS include Order Management, Service Inventory, Service Provisioning & Activation, Resource Inventory, and Discovery & Reconciliation.
“We look forward to continuing our support for TELUS’ leading-edge OSS transformation as they implement next-generation services using NetCracker’s highly automated fulfillment and provisioning solutions,” said Andrew Feinberg, President and CEO of NetCracker Technology.
