MetaSolv Introduces Time-to-Market OSS

9:27 pm   -   May 3rd, 2006

MetaSolv Software, Inc. a leader in comprehensive operations support system solutions for next-generation communications service providers, today introduced Time-to-Market (TTM) OSS, leveraging MetaSolv’s Provisioning 5 solution.

More than ever, service providers worldwide are demanding extreme flexibility from their OSS solutions, to support 90-day or less service incubation, creation and delivery cycles. With the introduction of Time-to-Market OSS, MetaSolv provides the capability for operators who no longer have to choose between the operational needs of getting a new service up and running today with limited time and budget, and the strategic OSS platform for full-service automation tomorrow. MetaSolv’s TTM OSS approach provides scalability in cost, sophistication, order volumes and functional footprint from the initial implementation to the full solution.

“Communications service providers worldwide are introducing IP-based services in very short service creation intervals,” noted Larry Goldman, partner, OSS Observer. “They are looking for OSS systems that can support their present VoIP and IPTV rollouts while anticipating the introduction of IMS and Service Delivery Platforms.”

MetaSolv’s Time-to-Market OSS is specifically positioned to enable operators to deploy next generation services swiftly and affordably for incubation in pilots, trials, and initial deployment stages. The solution can be evolved to support fully automated operational excellence, with the scalability and robustness critical to mass market deployment of carrier-grade services. TTM OSS arms the agile operator with the precision tools needed to introduce and incubate new services by:

- Coordinating the abundance of people, systems and activities while giving back-office end-users a consistent web interface to see the data they need, exactly when they need to see it;
- Providing a series of pre-packaged processes for next generation services, including IPTV;
- Leveraging existing systems and data sources to extract data and make it available to back-office end-users in real-time;
- Tracking tasks, processes, and end-user changes, and providing the right information to measure and improve those processes; and
- Supporting multiple iterations of provisioning processes as operators introduce, refine, streamline, and automate the delivery of new services.

MetaSolv’s Time-to-Market OSS approach has been successfully applied in several operators worldwide, including data services for a large Latin American operator and VoIP services for a large incumbent operator in Asia. In addition, MetaSolv Time-to-Market OSS has been deployed with a large PTT in Europe for IP and Ethernet services, where the system will rapidly enable integration with existing and new systems for rapid service delivery as part of a comprehensive network transformation program. In this instance, MetaSolv Time-to-Market OSS has reduced provisioning time from hours to minutes, increased service quality and accuracy, all while leveraging existing system investments.

“MetaSolv’s Time-to-Market OSS, leveraging Provisioning 5, is designed and packaged to facilitate service providers’ needs to innovate and rapidly launch new services cost-effectively,” said David Sharpley, executive vice president, marketing and product management, MetaSolv. “MetaSolv’s innovative approach allows operators to address the balance of achieving time-to-market for new services while maintaining a strategic OSS vision.”
