8:46 pm   -   February 8th, 2006

MetaSolv Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: MSLV – News), a global leader in comprehensive operational support system solutions for next-generation communications service providers, and Foundry Networks Inc. (Nasdaq: FDRY – News), a performance and total solutions leader for end-to-end switching, routing, and application Web switching, today announced a partnership agreement to enable rapid activation of end-to-end MPLS- and Ethernet-based services in service provider networks.

As part of this partnership, Foundry Networks and MetaSolv have created a joint pre-integrated solution offering to enable faster time to market for deployment of an array of MPLS- and Ethernet-based services. The solution covers activation of next-generation, QoS-aware Layer 2/3 MPLS-based VPN and VLAN-based services with MetaSolv’s market-leading IP Service Activator (IPSA) software on the following Foundry product families:

· NetIron XMR, a family of high-performance IPv4/v6/MPLS 10 GbE Internet routers
· NetIron MLX, a family of high-performance MPLS-enabled 10 GbE switching routers with advanced switching, routing and MPLS capabilities
· The NetIron IMR 640 IPv4/IPv6/MPLS router

MetaSolv’s IP activation capabilities enable rapid and efficient provisioning of complex IP and Ethernet services, including Layer 2/3 MPLS-based VPNs, VRF-Lite, Virtual Private LAN Services (VPLS), VLANs, IPSec, Traffic Engineering and Quality of Service, over large-scale, multi-vendor and multi-OS networks. MetaSolv delivers high-reliability activation and advanced configuration auditing through stateful service management, network auto-discovery and synchronization, as well as powerful policy-based configuration management.

Foundry Networks’ Service Provider (SP) products offer uncompromised wire-speed performance and a unique combination of advanced service delivery capabilities, high versatility, superior port density and increased traffic capacity. The industry-leading service delivery capabilities of Foundry’s SP products coupled with the market-leading service activation capabilities of MetaSolv IPSA software provides unparalleled value to service providers. Whether used for core/edge backbone connectivity or Gigabit Ethernet aggregation, Foundry’s solutions have the power, capacity, and redundancy features required by service providers that stake their reputation on the networks they build.

“Service providers demand rich, automated IP service activation solutions that are market-ready and provide a rapid return on investment,” said Ken Cheng, vice president and general manager, high value systems business unit. “The depth and breadth of product capabilities for Carrier Ethernet and IP domains, rapid network product integration, product flexibility, and scalability made MetaSolv the obvious choice as our activation partner.”

“Foundry has a strong history of providing high-performance, innovative solutions that deliver real value to operators and MetaSolv is pleased to partner with Foundry as their preferred activation partner,” said David Sharpley, senior vice president of marketing and product management at MetaSolv. “MetaSolv’s market-leading IP activation capabilities coupled with productized support for Foundry, provides a compelling value proposition to operators, including rapid time to revenue as they launch comprehensive IP-based services.”
