Lithuania Telecom Selects Azure Solutions’ Azure Interconnect Version 9.0

9:47 pm   -   March 1st, 2006

Azure Solutions, the revenue-assurance company, today announced that Lithuania Telecom (Lietuvos Telekomas), the largest telecommunications service company in Lithuania, has selected Azure Interconnect version 9.0.

Lithuania Telecom is aiming to increase revenues and profits from its wholesale division. A key tool in achieving this goal is a user-friendly and sophisticated interconnect system that will allow it to react quickly to changing prices and enable the rapid introduction of new and diverse products. Azure Interconnect version 9.0 not only meets Lithuania Telecom’s specifications, but is also already successfully implemented at TeliaSonera, which holds a 60 per cent stake in Lithuania Telecom.

Azure Interconnect version 9.0 combines proven high-volume carrier-grade functionality with rich features and next-generation settlement functions.   It provides current- and next-generation operators with a flexible and effective platform to manage complex interconnect agreements and react quickly to changing markets.  Furthermore, Azure Interconnect version 9.0 recently set an interconnect-benchmarking record with more than 2 billion CDRs (call detail records) processed in a day.

Arnoldas Zukauskas, wholesale department director at Lithuania Telecom, said: “Interconnect billing is a very important part of our operation, therefore it was essential we made the right decision regarding our new interconnect system.  Azure Interconnect gives us the functionality and usability we require, and Azure’s experience provides us with a high level of support.”

John Cronin, president and CEO of Azure Solutions, said: “We are very pleased to be working with Lithuania Telecom.  Azure Interconnect will be a key tool in helping its wholesale business achieve its goals in what has become a very competitive market.  The ability to react quickly to changing conditions, both in terms of the products and services offered, and their prices, is essential and Azure Interconnect puts control firmly in the hands of the client. “
