Leading Asian Operator Goes Live with MetaSolv for IP

8:59 pm   -   March 6th, 2006

MetaSolv Software, Inc., a global leader in comprehensive operations support system solutions for next-generation communications service providers, today announced that one of Asia’s leading communications groups selected and has successfully deployed MetaSolv to activate and manage its large and growing international IP network.

MetaSolv allows this operator to streamline service activation and enable more efficient management of a rapidly growing IP network, over which they offer global interconnectivity and a complex set of IP-based VPN services, over a multi-vendor Cisco and Juniper-based network.  MetaSolv is activating Layer 2 and Layer 3 MPLS VPNs, IPSec VPNs and Virtual Private LAN Services (VPLS).   The MetaSolv deployment also includes an end-to-end Traffic Engineering solution, providing planning, optimization and activation of MPLS Label Switched Paths.  This innovative solution is integrated with fault management and performance management systems, allowing comprehensive Service Level Agreement information to be provided to its customers.

MetaSolv was selected after a detailed analysis of the competition, including an extensive functional comparison and proof-of-concept which highlighted MetaSolv’s unique out-of-the-box capabilities, existing device support, and ability to provide a traffic engineering solution.   MetaSolv’s multi-vendor, multi-service activation capabilities have been deployed by more than 75 operators in over 26 countries for an array of services including VoIP, IPTV, IP-VPN, mobile, broadband, voice and data.  MetaSolv currently provisions numerous services over multiple network technologies for approximately 200 million subscribers globally.

“OSS Observer forecast that Asia-Pacific and CALA regions will grow at 13% CAGR from $2.4 billion in 2005 to $4.5 billion in 2010. The Asia-Pacific market will continue to show strong growth in residential broadband and mobile services over the next five years,” says Patrick Kelly, Senior Analyst and Partner, OSS Observer. “The rapid introduction of new services will drive automated activation and service creation environments which will yield improvements in operational efficiency and increased customer satisfaction,” concluded Kelly.
