Lavastorm Reinvents Revenue Assurance with New BRAIN Software

6:55 am   -   May 23rd, 2007

Lavastorm, a global provider of business assurance software and solutions, has recently announced a major new edition of its BRAIN revenue assurance software. The new 4.0 release is designed to transform the market by setting a new standard for easy audit configuration. It also changes how assurance software is priced and delivered, enabling a much wider scale and use of business assurance auditing within and beyond the communications service provider market.

BRAIN 4.0 aims to break the mould of traditional revenue assurance software with a product that is much more cost effective, scalable and easy to use. The new edition allows enterprises to provide sophisticated business assurance tools to a much larger pool of less technical users who need to easily and quickly audit critical data and processes such as billing, order management and provisioning.

Revenue assurance software has historically been costly to implement, inflexible and difficult to maintain. The introduction of BRAIN 4.0 addresses the challenges that had previously slowed the adoption and subsequent implementation of business assurance solutions, despite their clear financial, operational and compliancy benefits. Additionally, unlike competing products, customers benefit from Lavastorm’s per CPU pricing structure, which can be easily scaled from a single desktop to an enterprise wide system without compromising on functionality and features.

Using BRAIN 4.0 service providers can build and maintain complex and persistent audits across their entire revenue stream and value chain easier, more economically and more extensively than ever before.

As Mike Willett, Director of Fraud & Revenue Assurance at Telstra comments: “Two years ago, our exhaustive global search for the best end-to-end revenue assurance and provisioning alignment platform was awarded to Lavastorm. Since then, we have used Lavastorm’s software and services as a key part of our Revenue Assurance initiatives. With this new release, we expect the increased ease of use and capability to allow us to more efficiently undertake revenue assurance testing to validate the completeness and accuracy of revenue generating events across Telstra’s diverse product portfolio.”

Lavastorm’s BRAIN software is designed so complex audits can be done by business users, reducing the dependence on highly skilled technical or product specialists. Initial training can be completed in as little as two days. An extensive range of pre-built libraries simplifies the set up of data acquisition and analytics. Customers can continue to integrate with Lavastorm’s Assurance and Resolution Centre for dashboard reporting and case management or seamlessly integrate with popular third party business intelligence applications further easing the adoption of BRAIN.

“We originally developed BRAIN to respond to the need for the rapid creation of highly customer-specific revenue assurance audits,” said Drew Rockwell, CEO of Lavastorm. “This new release builds on that technology and raises the bar on how enterprises can use business assurance software to address revenue leakage, regulatory compliance and other aspects of operational risk management. With the advent of BRAIN 4.0, enterprises, solution providers, consultancies and even individual information workers now have access to a powerful technology platform that today persistently audits revenue and operational processes in some of the largest, most complex organisations in the world.”

BRAIN 4.0 further extends and complements Lavastorm’s end-to-end assurance software portfolio, which includes Visual CDR – a best-of-breed platform for identifying fraud, validating interconnection billing & storing and analysing call detail records for revenue assurance. BRAIN and Visual CDR are specifically designed to help companies ensure that their businesses are operating as they were designed.
