J:COM Chooses Amdocs for Customer Management

7:59 am   -   May 21st, 2009

Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems, has announced that Jupiter Communications (J:COM), Japan’s largest multi-play service provider, has selected Amdocs for customer management and will upgrade its Amdocs billing system to address its future growth and manage billing for multi-play products and services. In addition, Amdocs will continue the partnership with Sumisho Computer Systems Corporation, a local systems integrator, for this project.

Together, Sumisho Computer Systems and Amdocs have provided J:COM with a number of products and services including customer care and billing products for more than 12 years. J:COM is a leading provider of high-speed Internet access, telephony and mobile services through 20 managed franchises and serves approximately 2.6 million subscribers.

“At J:COM, we are pioneering new products and services to deliver the most compelling customer experience,” said Tomoya Aoki, chief financial officer of J:COM. “J:COM’s long standing relationship with Amdocs and its innovative solutions will enable us to deliver operational and technical strategies for sustained growth and subscriber support across our business. We anticipate that these new products will enable us to transform our call center operations and maximize the value of our customer interactions.”

As part of this customer management system replacement, J:COM will deploy Amdocs Smart Agent Desktop, which is part of Amdocs CES (customer experience systems) product portfolio. This agent portal provides a unified desktop to manage all customer interactions regardless of where the information resides, and supports first-call resolution. The Amdocs Smart Agent Desktop will enable J:COM agents to respond quickly to service and information requests, and make recommendations for new services to its customers.

In addition, J:COM will upgrade its billing system to the Amdocs Multi-Play Smart Pack billing solution. The integration of Amdocs’ customer management and billing solutions will enable J:COM to automate its order-to-cash process, and quickly and cost-effectively deliver innovative bundles, pricing options and personalized offerings to its customers.
