JacobsRimell Launches QuickStart Fulfillment Solution for IP-Based Business Services

4:01 pm   -   March 6th, 2007

JacobsRimell (JR), a leading provider of customer-centric IP service fulfillment solutions, has announced the availability of JR QuickStart Business, a service fulfillment and management solution designed to support communications service providers’ rapid rollout of IP-based solutions to global businesses. JR QuickStart Business VoIP is the first of a range of packaged solutions aimed at helping operators deploy VoIP-based business services immediately and cost-effectively.

“With the business VoIP market expected to grow to upwards of $15 billion by 2012, it is critical that operators develop VoIP offerings that enable them to earn revenue now,” said David Jacobs , CTO of JacobsRimell. “In order for operators to capture a share of this lucrative market quickly, their product offerings, ease of adoption and initial customer experience must stand out among a packed field of competitors. Operators are also faced with the task of rapidly deploying, configuring and managing complex service delivery infrastructure, as well as managing SIP user equipment that is often behind secure NAT gateways and customer firewalls. Implementing an appropriate service fulfillment solution is a critical factor in the time to revenue stakes, and JR QuickStart Business VoIP is specifically architected so that operators can start to generate revenue from new customers almost immediately.”

The JR QuickStart Business VoIP solution offers out-of-the-box support for the provisioning of an operator’s VoIP service delivery infrastructure – JR QuickStart Central Office VoIP – and for customer SIP user equipment – JR QuickStart SIP User Equipment (UE). The product is architected to run within an operator’s existing operational infrastructure minimizing costly investment and systems integration.

JR QuickStart Central Office VoIP provisions and manages the operator’s VoIP service delivery infrastructure. JR’s smart user interface allows operators to configure call agents, voice mail and messaging systems from a single user interface, hiding the individual vendor and version complexities. The solution supports open standards for rapid and efficient integration, such as OSS/J for order management and inventory integration, as well as JSR168 based portlets to ease integration and presentation of information for customer self-care.

JR QuickStart SIP UE offers communication service providers the ability to automate the creation and management of customer and device-specific profiles to speed up and increase the efficiency of mass deployment. Through JR’s intuitive web-based portal and device templates, providers can easily handle SIP user equipment provisioning – remotely and without customer involvement. JR QuickStart SIP UE provides full feature management for a range of popular SIP devices, including phones, IADs, ATAs and PBXs. The solution is simple, yet scalable and is tested to meet tier 1 operator requirements.

Key benefits of the JR QuickStart Business VoIP solution are rapid time to revenue for new business VoIP products as well as simplified provisioning and on-going management of the service delivery infrastructure and the customer’s SIP equipment. Automated activations happen right first time, and in seconds, as opposed to hours or days. JR’s implementation of customer self-care delivers a seamless activation and order management process, putting the customer in control while at the same time lowering operational costs.

“JacobsRimell’s Adaptive Provisioning System is a key component of Cbeyond’s fixed-mobile services infrastructure,” said Chris Gatch, CTO of Cbeyond. “The JR platform has processed a substantial volume of customer transactions since deployment with excellent accuracy and reliability. JR not only ensures the high customer satisfaction levels we demand as a business, but reduces the overheads associated with our operational and call center resources. We can now react more quickly to market opportunities and competitive threats, and continue to enhance our already outstanding reputation for superior self-care.”
