Intec Solution Preferred by Largest Mexican Cable Operator for Triple Play Support

9:15 am   -   January 15th, 2009

Today, Intec announced a contract with the largest cable operator in Mexico for Intec’s market-leading mediation solution. The Mexican operator will use Intec Mediation to modernize its network operations for supporting its expanding range of services including digital telephony, Pay per View, and Video on Demand. Also covered under the terms of the agreement is one of the operator’s affiliate companies, a leading fiber network provider in Mexico.

Intec Mediation will provide much greater visibility and control over the company’s operations at the beginning of the revenue lifecycle. Its advanced and automated capabilities ensure all usage is collected and processed correctly, and will enable the cable operator to offer complex “triple play” service bundles with confidence.

Intec Regional Sales Director Winston Rivero commented, “Intec’s approach is to ensure we clearly understand a customer’s needs from both a technical and a commercial perspective. In this case, we were able to present a proven solution that was one hundred percent compliant with the operator’s requirements and one that was clearly the best value.”

The cable operator required a flexible system that provided superior levels of control and audit to support its complex service model. Intec Mediation will provide the company with a convergent solution capable of supporting its existing network elements, as well as integrating traffic from other services. The system’s user-friendly interface and extensive business logic functionality will enable the cable operator to control its business processes and rules. Intec Mediation’s comprehensive capabilities around revenue and service assurance were also key criteria in the selection.

“We are delighted at this latest addition to our growing list of customers in Mexico and to further build our footprint across Latin America,” commented Ian Watterson, VP of Intec Americas. “Our Interconnect settlement solution already has a strong presence in the country, but this selection by Mexico’s leading cable operator will enable us to showcase just what a market-leading mediation solution can do to revolutionize a carrier’s network operations.”

Intec supports the cable industry in a number of major operators including Cox Communications in the United States and R Cable in Spain, and services more than 40 telecommunications customers throughout Latin America.
