Inside Secrets to Monitoring NGN Converged Networks

7:28 am   -   July 26th, 2007

Following 3G-Middle-East and Gulf, Nexus Telecom will hold a workshop on next generation networks (NGN) together with the Network Management Task Force, 4 – 5 September 2007 in Dubai.

Since 2003, Nexus Telecom has worked intensely towards the development of network management technology and architecture for the next generation of IP enabled communication systems or next generation networks (NGN). After a number of successful deployments in converged NGN networks that rely on a full all-IP transport backbone, Nexus Telecom is proud to announce full NGN capabilities within its product. “We are thrilled to know we can provide significant value to our NGN-customers by making it possible to analyze complex IP transactions with various NGN protocols simply and quickly, providing multiple view-options into their network,” says VP Marketing Executive Christoph Kupper.

Available network views include “physical” and overlay “logical” views, enabling fast identification of peer communication nodes in support of subscriber transaction analysis. “This is a major step in the industry for NGN network surveillance,” adds Kupper.

The objectives of the workshop are to report on the progress Nexus Telecom has made in NGN technology, to explore specific issues that impact both operators and Nexus Telecom in order to optimize the usage of the existing network management platform (NexusNETVIEW and NexusMETER) and to identify areas in which further progress could be made.

Seven sessions will each be co-chaired by Nexus Telecom senior management and representatives from key customers. Key speakers will be from T-Mobile, BT, Bell Canada and Senior Market Analysts from European Communications. One area to be addressed is the concept known as “NGN layers,” which will highlight the critical role of surveillance, monitoring, and performance management for transport, control and services layers. Simply put this means the underlying technology transaction are fully visible to operators in a multi-service, multi-protocol, multi-vendor environment.
