FTS Launches Prepackaged Billing and Customer Care Appliance for Entry-Level Operators and Service Providers

6:14 am   -   October 22nd, 2009

FTS (LSE: FTS), a global provider of billing, CRM and policy control solutions for communications and content service providers, has launched FTS Express, a scalable and flexible billing and customer care system wrapped in a small appliance. This highly affordable, easy-to-deploy product has been specifically designed for entry-level ISPs and VoIP, WiMAX, Wi-Fi, and IPTV providers that want to start small while building the foundation for future growth and expansion.

FTS Express is an all-in-one product for online charging, billing, AAA, balance management, customer care, policy control, and more. It comes ready with the necessary hardware and third-party software, can be configured without vendor support, and is offered in three packages: convergent prepaid/postpaid data; convergent prepaid/postpaid data and VoIP; and an advanced service provider package. FTS Express flexibility and breadth of functionality enable customers to start with core modules for basic operation, and grow with additional components to a mature implementation together with their business, without having to compromise on expansion capabilities. Moreover, the product can be seamlessly and rapidly expanded to a full-fledged billing and customer care solution with no changes to procedures and interfaces.

“There is an abundance of new service providers in several growth markets, but there are few BSS products that can scale with these operators as their customer numbers and service offerings grow to larger-scale endeavors, said Karl Whitelock, senior consulting analyst – OSS BSS Global Competitive Strategies at Stratecast, a Division of Frost & Sullivan. FTS has recognized that fast time to market and a controlled total cost of ownership are critical market drivers, hence by creating a scalable, pre-packaged billing solution, service providers can now get started rapidly and move to a fuller, customized solution when necessary, without a painful migration process.

Benefiting from FTS years of expertise in billing and CRM implementations, FTS Express introduces a new approach in the company s marketing strategy: the appliance will be sold primarily via FTS partners, including systems integrators, value-added resellers, service bureaus that provide BSS support, owners of WiMAX and other licenses, and WiMAX/VoIP infrastructure providers that wish to expand their offering.

The concept behind FTS Express is that no wall is too high , said Asher Polani, FTS CEO. This new development aims to solve an ever-present dilemma: how to start small with an initial investment that is kept in check, while enjoying maximum capacity and functionality and building for the future. We are already seeing success with the partners and customers who have implemented FTS Express, who have pointed out its ease of configuration and operation and its scalability. Moreover, the product s flexibility is such that additional packages can be developed to respond to the needs of other market verticals. We are very confident that FTS Express will set a new record in our company s market penetration and exposure.
