FTS Creates Next Generation Converged Solutions with HP

7:38 am   -   February 13th, 2007

FTS (LSE: FTS), a global provider of Business Control, Billing & CRM solutions for communications service providers (CSPs), is working with HP to deliver next generation solutions enabling network, service and payment convergence. This offering is targeted at service providers looking to blend services from multiple networks – voice, video, data, and content - supporting prepaid, postpaid, and hybrid payment methods.

The solution delivers high integration starting with service control and media platform through online charging, billing and CRM. The joint solution delivers unmatched service flexibility enabling innovative new services, new revenue streams, and enhanced customer experience. Its high integration provides for lower OPEX and reduced Total-Cost-of-Ownership (TCO). CSPs will have a one-stop-shop for converged solutions, delivered through FTS’ and HP’s global support and services organization.

Based on FTS’ Business Control Layer technology, the company’s Leap™ Billing and CRM converged solution will be integrated and marketed with HP’s OpenCall Service Access Controller (OCSAC) and HP’s OpenCall Media Platform (OCMP) for communications service providers.

- FTS’ Leap Billing and Leap CRM delivers value from every customer interaction. It supports any service – voice, video, data, or content – and any payment method. The solution delivers end-to-end converged pre/post and unified CRM with superior integration and operational efficiencies. Built upon FTS’ Leap Business Control and Charging Function (Leapâ„¢ BCCF) patented technology, it provide highly flexible business rule engine. Furthermore, Leap Billing and CRM complies with the most demanding performance, robustness and availability required from a mission critical system.
- HP’s OpenCall Service Access Controller integrated with FTS’ Leap Billing system and implements the Intelligent Network (IN) model as well as standardized IP protocols (SIP, Diameter) to provide real-time control of users’ voice and video calls, data sessions or content. This puts service providers in a position to control usage in real-time, virtually eliminate prepay revenue leakage and deploy new revenue-generating services to all customers.
- HP’s OpenCall Media Platform is the industry’s most comprehensive and mature voice service platform, enabling the rapid development and secure deployment of next-generation messaging, portals and enhanced voice-enabled interactive services.

“This is a great win for FTS and an affirmation of their market leadership”, said Paul Hughes, Vice President of Enabling Technologies research, Yankee Group, “The demand for converged prepaid and postpaid solutions continues to grow, as today’s communications service providers look to improve operational efficiency by creating a more unified back office. We expect a substantial number of the new deals announced this year to be of this flavour.”

Yair Sakov, Vice President, Marketing & Business Development of FTS, said: “We are excited to be working with HP delivering the next level of convergence focused on both multiple services and different payment methods. The innovation, scale and experience of HP combined with our truly converged billing and CRM solution creates a compelling proposition for service providers that wish to implement a converged offering.”
