FTS and Sandvine Revolutionize Broadband Access Business Models
FTS (LSE: FTS), the leading provider of Business Control, Billing and CRM solutions and Sandvine Incorporated, a leader in Deep-Packet Inspection (DPI) based policy management solutions, have partnered to enable higher broadband provider revenues and customer satisfaction by revolutionizing broadband access into an exciting medium for new revenue-generating services.
Today more than ever, customer retention is the basis for service providers’ future success. Operators must deliver compelling and exciting services that bring customers an unmatched experience, thus increasing their satisfaction and loyalty. Furthermore, providers need to move away from competing on price and access speed and develop a truly sustainable competitive advantage. The combination of FTS and Sandvine addresses these issues while providing operators a solution to generate additional revenues.
The combined solution is composed of FTS’ Leapâ„¢ Business Control Engine (Leap BCE) and Sandvine’s DPI-based policy solution. The granular ability of Sandvine’s DPI platform to analyze what traverses over the broadband network, coupled with FTS’ Business Control Layer, allows service providers to capture, analyze, and respond to user-related events in real time and address these events from a business stand point.
For example, if a premium customer is trying to watch a VoD (Video on Demand), the provider can dynamically improve his or her service level to guarantee a great viewing experience. Or, the provider can allow customers to self-provision a ‘turbo speed’ broadband access experience activated instantaneously and charge on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Together, FTS and Sandvine provide operators with the tools to offer personalized services that allow customers to self-manage their services in real-time. Customers can choose which services they require and how much they are willing to spend. For example, using a web self care, customers can self-provision a preferential service level for certain applications or services like an improved service level to a photo-album upload and management website.
Intelligently deployed alongside existing systems, the FTS and Sandvine solutions are equipped with interfaces into billing, CRM, and other OSS systems.
“We are excited about working together with Sandvine as it enables providers to redefine the user experience by engaging in real-time customer interaction, empowering customers to manage and control their services,” said Yair M. Sakov, FTS’ Vice President, Marketing and Business Development. “We enable providers a new level of differentiation turning broadband access into a revenue-growth engine.”
“Together FTS and Sandvine offer broadband providers a new level of business insight into network traffic,” said Tom Donnelly, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales of Sandvine. “Broadband providers will be able to understand individual subscriber’s usage behavior and offer them services they value and will pay for.”
FTS and Sandvine will be demonstrating their solutions at the Billing and OSS World event in Chicago April 25-26th, in booth number 300. To see the demo or to arrange a meeting with FTS and Sandvine during the show, please email meetings@fts-soft.com.
