ESKADENIA Software Opens offices at the Princess Sumaya University for Technology

7:57 am   -   April 27th, 2009

ESKADENIA Software signed, in 2008, an agreement with Princess Sumaya University for Technology in order to establish working offices within the PSUT campus for the development, management and operation of software products and services, in close cooperation with the students and the academia. This agreement has turned into a working cooperation model between the academia and the technology-based private sector thanks to the foresight and involvement of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan.

Operating from Al–Wafa Building, the new graduates are provided with real time projects and professional training as means to practically involve current university skills and competencies with future employment in the ICT sector. Further, PSUT students will have access to a number of leading edge and diverse systems and technologies complementary to the teachings at PSUT.

“The need to seek and find the IT talents from Jordanian universities is becoming almost a daily endeavour for software companies who are striving for sustained performance, delivery and customer satisfaction.

We are glad to be able to present a workable example that will facilitate easier access to fresh competence and talent”, said Doha Abdelkhaleq, Executive Director at ESKADENIA Software, at the closing ceremony of the IMCL 09 conference.

ESKADENIA Software’s new offices at PSUT currently accommodate around 30 full-time students and employees in addition to the large number of students and graduates working at the ESKADENIA head office on various on-going projects.

“Jordan’s Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MoICT) has recently launched the Graduates Internship Programme whereby the government of Jordan subsidises a certain percentage of newly employed graduates’ salary during the first 18 months of employment in addition to providing those graduates with soft skills training. A synergy has been created; now we have a leading software enterprise, that is ESKADENIA, a university with outstanding technology and focus on human resources, that is PSUT, and an organised governmental support focused on training and finding jobs to new graduates - a practical example of co-operation between government, academia and the private sector”, further explained Ms. Abdelkhaleq.

About The Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT)
The Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) is a non- profit private specialised Jordanian University owned by the leading applied research centre in Jordan, the Royal Scientific Society (RSS). Its areas of specialisation are IT, Communications and Electronics. Being non-profit, and owned by a non-profit public institution, PSUT partakes of both worlds, public and private. It is more akin to public universities in mission, but more so to the private sector in drive and spirit. Right from the start, PSUT has accommodated itself to both local development and modernisation plans and global developments.

PSUT was established in 1991 as a specialised IT university. Currently, it confers a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, and Computer Engineering.

PSUT is a fully accredited university, and acquired its license and general accreditation from the Jordanian Council for Higher Education in 1991. It has subsequently acquired specialised accreditation for the first two majors.
