Denmark’s TDC Deploys Cramer for Next Generation Transformation; Initial Project Complete, Broader Deployment Underway

9:53 pm   -   March 29th, 2006

At the launch of the Cramer6 OSS Suite, OSS leader Cramer announced that TDC, Denmark’s leading provider of communications services, has completed the first phase of a multi-stage deployment. Cramer’s solution has been deployed across TDC’s Nordic Net, the Pan-Scandinavian infrastructure network. In addition, TDC has expanded its relationship with Cramer to replace its existing legacy systems and automate inventory management and fulfillment associated with its access and transmission networks. TDC has engaged Cramer Global Services, Cramer’s consulting, education and training division, to lead the implementation and deployment of this large-scale project.

TDC is Denmark’s incumbent telecoms operator and the second-largest provider in Switzerland, offering a range of fixed line, mobile, Internet, cable TV and wholesale services. When fully deployed, Cramer’s solutions will support more than 3,000 TDC users responsible for management of a Pan-European network.

“TDC’s goal is to lead the market in the development and delivery of exciting next generation services,” said Kim Frimer, CEO of TDC Solutions. “Cramer’s solutions help set us on a fast track to building the operations platform that serves this vision today and has the flexibility to grow with us and to enable us to adapt in line with changes in technology and market demand.”

Improved Operational Efficiency
In early 2005, TDC launched an initiative to reduce costs, targeting increased operational efficiency as a strategic objective. At the operational core, Cramer’s solution will replace TDC’s more than 20-year-old legacy OSS systems, and serve as the new centralized platform to support the core access and transmission networks. Cramer’s solution will help manage TDC’s core network for SDH, DWDH, Ethernet, physical ATM/Frame Relay, IP backbone and the copper access network from the Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) to the local exchange. As a result, TDC can improve efficiencies with automation that enables flow-through fulfillment, reducing the cost of manual re-work and errors.

Condensing the Implementation Timescale
TDC will accelerate these benefits by using Cramer Global Services, Cramer’s consulting, education and training division, to implement the solution. TDC can leverage the best practices approach that is engineered into Cramer’s product.

“Like all Tier 1 operators, TDC recognizes the strategic importance of a single integrated OSS solution that supports all networks and technologies across international boundaries,” said Guy Dubois, President and CEO, Cramer. “Cramer has met this need consistently, delivering our industry-leading solution to telcos around the world. The combined power of our solution and our experience in implementation means that operators now can benefit from the world’s leading OSS solution in record-setting timescales.”

About TDC
TDC is the leading provider of communications solutions in Denmark, the second-largest telecoms provider in the Swiss market and is represented by a significant presence in the Pan-Nordic market and in selected markets in Central Europe. By the end of 2005, the TDC Group had more than 15m customers in Europe.
