Comptel Serves Nearly 200 Million Subscribers on the Indian Subcontinent

6:01 pm   -   May 15th, 2008

Comptel Dynamic OSS solutions support the fantastic subscriber growth by leading service providers in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka

Comptel, announced that the number of telecom subscribers its solutions serve via its customers has now reached close to 200 million. This landmark amount of subscribers has been reached through a combination of the signing of new customers in 2007 and the phenomenal growth of existing customers.

Comptel has achieved a considerable degree of success on the Indian subcontinent in recent years. Service providers now using Comptel Dynamic OSS solutions include Bharti Airtel (India), Vodafone (India), Tata Teleservices (India), Idea (India), Grameenfone (Bangladesh), Banglalink (Bangladesh), and Dialog (Sri Lanka). The firm has also formed strong partnerships with global and local system integrators, such as IBM, Satyam Computer Services, and TCS. To support this success, the company opened an office in New Delhi during 2004.

Mr. Parag Grover, Comptel’s Country Manager for Indian subcontinent commented, “We are really pleased with Comptel’s success on the Indian sub-continent. Many of the leading service providers in the region are Comptel’s customers. Our excellent relationship with our customers and our partners bodes well for the continued success of Comptel in the region.”

Ms. Arnhild Schia, Comptel’s Senior Vice President South and West Europe, Asia Pacific, and Americas concluded, “There is no doubt that the Indian sub-continent is one of the most exciting markets in the world today. The sheer size and speed of growth of the subscriber base create unique challenges at the OSS level. Comptel is proud to demonstrate that our promise of reliable delivery holds even in these exceptional conditions.”

Comptel will be exhibiting at TM Forum Management World 2008 in Nice, France, 18 May to 22 May 2008 (stand: 52). Axiom Systems, recently acquired by Comptel, will be speaking with BT at the conference from 16.00 on Tuesday 20 May in the TM Forum Prosspero and NGOSS in the Real World track.
